Give us Barcelona, so we can shit all over them

Rather save that for the knockouts. Really rub it in.

I did some math and the odds of having a death group of Real Madrid /Bayern/ Juventus and Barcelona/PSG are 12%, Im happy if we avoid that.

Benfica, Sevilla, Liverpool and Celtic.

This will be a great draw for us. Not much travel, avoid the big guns and we get an opportunity to get revenge on Sevilla.

UEFA please set this group up for us. :)

You'll struggle to get that one!

Edit: Read Benfica as Barcelona. Having a shambles on this page ;D

I don't want to terrify you but I think it's just over 14% (or 1 in 7) ;D

Is there any restriction on us going Celtic or just premier league teams we cannot get?

Just PL teams we can't get, Celtic were in a group with Man City last season.

Pot 2 looks rough. Hoping for Porto from that one. Bring on any of them though, we'll have to beat them eventually if we want number 6.

Pot 1 : Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus, Benfica, Monaco, Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk

Pot 2 : Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, Manchester City, Porto, Manchester United

Pot 3 : Napoli, Tottenham, Basel, Olympiakos, Anderlecht, Liverpool, Roma, Beşiktaş

Pot 4 : Celtic, CSKA Moscow, Sporting Lisbon, APOEL Nicosia, Feyenoord, Maribor, RB Leipzig, Qarabag

Glad we'll avoid Roma, given that I heard rumours they were heading for pot 4 last spring. Let alone avoiding Basel. Three times the charm maybe but no thanks!

I'd fancy Shakthar, Porto and Maribor. Looks like a winnable group. Whichever team we get from pot 1 is going to be huge. 4 out of 7 teams there I feel we're probably on paper better then, Real would be ultra hard and Juventus/Bayern have obvious qualities even though they have weak spots. Pot 2 looks like bad news all along but PSG's defence and Neymar's lack of work rate back should be something to expose. Barca, Dortmund and Atlético are no-no's for me though. As for group 4 I'd be desperately keen on avoiding Celtic (Brendan's revenge, Battle of Britain, crazy tackles, crazy atmosphere... feels like a possible drabbing in Glasgow even though we'd probably beat them comfy at Anfield). Leipzig would be no fun either and Sporting, CSKA and Feyenoord will surely have big tricks up their sleeves on their days. If we get one weaker team from pot 1 and avoid especially Leipzig we're looking very good though.

I think the best case scenario would be something like Real, Porto and Feyenoord as you have a top team to smack down the weaker pot 2 side and postpones when we would have to meet them in the knockout phase too with Feyenoord out of pot 4 simply for being a known quantity to a certain extent and a relatively short journey too.

Really congested fixtures schedule coming up too

Man City then CL Group game 1 3 days later
Leicester then CL Group game 2 2 days later
Man Utd then CL Group game 3 2 days later
Huddersfield then CL Group game 4 2 days later
Southampton then CL Group game 5 2 days later
Brighton then CL Group game 6 4 days later but 3 days before Everton

The squad will have to be managed carefully to ensure that we remain competitive in the league also. Hopefully we aren't drawn against some of the Russian teams or Olympiakos where there will be quite a bit of travel involved. I wouldn't mind Monaco, Sevilla and Feyenoord :)

Clyne, Coutinho and Lallana can't come back fast enough too, would really beef up our squad a bit.

Coutinho should hopefully be back in the next two or three weeks, Lallana should be back early November and Clyne I'm not sure about but we seem to have a very capable young man in his place for now.

Juventus probably suit us least. Already stuffed Bayern this summer ;). Save Madrid for later - and we can't have two Spanish teams in the group...

Barcelona. Destroy them home and away, have their fans boo their ageing overpaid arses off the pitch. Suarez begs Klopp to sign him. Mighty Barca bottom of the group.

Celtic. Say hello to Brendan, then show him how we approach CL games now.

The focus now should not be on who the owners are, but limits on what owners can do without formal supporter agreement. At all clubs.

Just a side note. For a team like Arsenal this is draw is of interest because 5 English teams are in the CL and if they all get tougher groups then the CL hangovers will help Arsenal and possibly Leicester if they can rediscover their title winning form.

I think 3 seasons ago when we were outclassed under Brend in the group stages it hit our confidence in the league and made us think we weren't good enough to even be a top 4 side. We've got past that mental barrier now. It's so important that we don't get a Real or Barca in the group stages, we have so many youngsters and inexperienced players that the same thing could happen as three years ago.

So important to get a decent group so we don't lose ground and in the PL. Not much travel and deffo avoid the big guns.

This is off-topic but Arsenal will want to take the EL seriously if they are not idiots. It gives them a backdoor to the CL in what looks like an increasingly difficult PL.  They will want to field sides strong enough to make sure they get through the group stage.

Monaco, Barca, Qarabag
Easiest looking draw
I wouldn't want Qarabag. Would probably be the longest trip we've done for a one-off game ever, like half-way to Thailand. Would much rather take Celtic from pot 4 to be honest.

There are some of the bigger teams I feel will be more worried about us then we are of them, based on tonight's performance anyway.
We will probably end up with a group of death, we never do anything the easy way 😂

On a serious note, have Monaco actually strengthened at all this summer? All I've heard is M'Bappe is going to PSG on loan.

I thought Kazan would be further, but seems that Qarabag beats it (2536 miles to Kazan, 3125 miles to Baku where Qarabag are based according to Google Maps).
