Methinks that was like 5 years ago?  ??

I know, but I can hope can't I?

Hope he's back tonight, the greatest player our club has ever had, with Kenny and Liddell just behind him.

I can't wait to see him back tonight. Only a few weeks ago I was wondering if he would get straight back in the team, but now its clear we need him to do his stuff.

I really hope he is properly recovered from his injury and ready to go. I do think we've rushed him back in the past few seasons and it's impacted on his performance. A good strong 45 mins for him here and then back in the starting lineup on Saturday.

Would love him to have some minutes tonight but his absence wasn't the problem we lost on Sunday.

No, I agree. We should be capable of having a good go at Spurs with or without Gerrard. But having a rampaging Gerrard back would certainly help!

I really want to see him playing today, Really missed him

Agree completely. Not played since the United game and that seems an eternity ago. As someone else said on a different thread (or maybe even this one) - savour him.

It's also funny a few years back I'd have been with the majority who said he shouldn't be playing CM and that it wasn't his strongest position, especially with the depth we had there. Now I'll be reassured to see him in there, especially if he plays within himself (which given he is easing back he should do) and plays in a controlled way, much like he did in that United game.

Welcome back!

I honestly might hate people that still snipe at Gerrard.

Love him.  He is a legend and I will be sadder and sadder the closer the end of his career comes.  He is under appreciated by far too many of his own fans.

They were mainly his piledrivers which are awesome. I was expecting to see that goal he scored at Newcastle where he dinked it over the keeper after Lucas played him through.

Yeah the goals are mainly screamers but wow, some of them are out of this world. Number 4 against boro I think, what a goal.

That did sit up nicely though, i think more impressive was the one against southampton i think, on a very bad pitch at anfield.

I have a DVD somewhere, i think it's called "Steven Gerrard: Centurion" and the stats are fucking incredible. It lists the amount of goals he's scored into the kop end vs the annie road end along with a load of others too. Must pull it out if i can find it and list them here.

Found an old post of mine.

Out of Gerrard's first 100 goals 56 (scored a similar amount from outside the box)were scored at Anfield and unbelievably 44 were at the Kop end. Not really what you were looking for but thought i'd post it anyway.

Any day Gerrard runs out for LFC is a good one.
The one most important thing that we all must remember, in case it slipped our mind, is this club is much more important and bigger than anybody. I'll never forget that and anybody that does is being a wee bit irresponsible and stupid I think because the club is more important than any one individual. The Club is, The Club.
