I'm saying we make a flying start to the season with 15 points out of 15.
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

Norwich - Shit. Southampton, by far the toughest game, their world cup final but hopefully we get it done. Arsenal - Not sure how anyone can predict we won't beat them, goes against all logic, they haven't sorted any of the faults that sees them get battered at Anfield every season. Burnley - Shit. Newcastle - Even worse.

"We might draw one"? Bit bedwettery of me, that! ;D

Next five up -

Chelsea (A)
Sheffield United (A)
Leicester City (H)
Man United (A)
Spurs (H)

I can see us getting another 15, maybe more chance of that one draw but I reckon we have enough to win all five.

True, but with regard to United; I think they're no better than the Moyes side Liverpool battered at OT. And this Pool side is far better than that one was.

Sure, it's pretty much their cup final, and they'll be right up for it...

I know people might think I'm being a little extreme here but I want us to win all our games this season and I want Manchester City to lose all their games, I am calculating if this occurs when we would win the title. It's not an easy calculation to make because of the World Club Cup fixtures ruining the fixture schedule and I'm not sure how many games in hand we'd have, as well as the Milk Cup causing issues with fixtures. Then, finally, I think if City lose so many games, Everton won't so we got to see how many points they get and recalculate this whole thing. Does my head in. After such a long season last season, it's like we are back in 1921 and I have to live through another 99 years to make sure we get the job done before the apocalypse.

Chelsea and United away could define the season in many ways. Four or six points from them and the momentum will be amazing. The other two before Spurs ought to be wins, especially with Leicester being weakened by not replacing Maguire, but you never know.

Spurs is a game with greater than 50 % win chance but a tricky one as well, especially if they play Moura and Son on the break.

if we win our next five games we beat 2 PL records, Chelsea's nine wins to the start of a season and Man City's eighteen wins in a row.

thats some motivation if we need it and i think we can get the five wins !

Some of our toughest games there.

Man U A,
Spurs H,
Chelsea A,

Leicester H,
Sheffield Utd A.

(We also have Napoli away thrown in.)

Well all I will say is if, if we win these 5, we'll have played and beaten all but Abu Dhabi. We'll be at least 5 points above them and really they would have had a much easier run of games too. So, if we win them then it'll be blue being a blue !!

Can see all the reasons Man U, Chelsea and Spurs will give us trouble, Leicester too but if our main guys stay fit I would give us a better than even chance in any game so why not. Win 5 and blitz the league.

Winning our next five would be a massive statement to our rivals. Given that City have played only one side that should have troubled them (Spurs) and on paper should comfortably win their next five, to be still leading after having played Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester, Man Utd and Spurs would be amazing, particularly if we don't drop any points.

3 wins and 2 draws would keep us slightly ahead of last season's points tally of 2.55 points per game. Our 7 draws last season cost us in the end relative to Man City's 2, so I would take 4 wins and 1 defeat rather than 3 wins and 2 draws from a set of 5 games. Being undefeated is great, but it is more important to pick up as many points as possible. So if that means the very odd defeat here and there while winning all our other games then so be it.

Don't know about Napoli, but would think we can win all of the league games. Utd away is the one I'd be wary of, combination of the rivalary, being away, and if we've got the 12 points at that point, the pressure on us would be huge.

Why are we acting like Man U are a decent side just because they spawned a win by diving for a pen and then doing nothing for 83 minutes? Not arsed about Chelsea either, they've conceded 11 in 5 so we'll get at least 7. Okay, a bit of an exaggeration... 6. I'm more worried about Sheffield Utd.

Great start to the season.. perfect 15 in first five and I think we'll get another perfect 15 in the next, despite the so called tough schedule.. This team is mint..

Chelsea (A) (Their back 4 is shite and VVD will handle that lanky Abraham kid)

Sheffield United (A) (Tough game.. but we should have enough for them)

Leicester City (H) (Another tough game.. they (vardy) are always up for it against us..but we should have enough again)

Man United (A) (They will get a hiding at OT this season.. it's been coming for a few seasons now.. we will ruin their Cup final)

Spurs (H) (We always do these at home.. no reason why that should change this season)

Onwards Redmen..
F*CK 0FF Mourinho..

You might be right about Chelsea but Napoli is on Tuesday and we play Chelsea on the Sunday afternoon so that will help.

Napoli away are only marginally more difficult than Valencia at home, and Chelsea have a much tougher group, so given the rest, I'd see it as advantage us (to be honest a draw away would be enough to win the group, but if Chelsea drop points at home to Valencia, then it's game on for 2nd, probably).  Their defence is also crap - their attack is ok, and tammy A is playing well right now, but that's more down to the teams they've played being poor as well.

This is probably our hardest run of fixtures in the campaign.

I know everyone is absolutely bouncing at the moment but I'd snap your hand off for 13 points out of this lot. Not very often that we win at Stamford Bridge. Old Trafford even less so. No matter how we or those teams are playing they are always very tough games. 4 points from those 2 would be good. That added to 3 wins, that include Leicester and Spurs at home, would be absolutely outstanding. To be honest 11 points (3 wins and 2 draws) would be a decent return and put us on 26 points from 30 having played United, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea in 4 of those 10 games.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

the *only* room for improvement on last season would have been in the tough away fixtures in the league really, having dropped points at United, Chelsea, Arsenal, City and the derby.....

and we got 2 in this next run of 5 so i can see us winning all but 1, maybe 2 of the games here

Chelsea (A) 1
Sheffield United (A) 3
Leicester City (H) 3
Man United (A) 3
Spurs (H)1

seems about right to me as a pessimistic view!

but I think i'd be happy with 11/15.....10/15 as the minimum in that run. worst case and city winning all their 5 would only put them level with us.
So this early bit of breathing space we've got in the bag is handy

obviously to go and win 4 or 5 out of 5 would be excellent. I'd take that at the expense of results in other cups too

We are due a good performance and a win at Old Trafford.

13-15 in this run is an acceptable return.
