Barty is the only one standing in the way of Pegula, Brady, Mertens, Muchova or Rogers from reaching a Grand Slam final. The other half is loaded in comparison.

As an Aussie I love him.

Similar to when we had Suarez it's a bit "I know he's a c*nt but he's our c*nt".

If you've ever been to a Kyrgios match on John Cain Arena (ive been to a couple), its the closest a tennis stadium is to Anfield (but obviously to a miniscule degree) in terms of the gutteral roar and ability to put off an opponent. Humbert and Thiem were genuinely rattled by the crowd, Thiem was good enough to have the ability to compose himself before it was too late and fight back.

If you look at the demographic of people that go to his matches, a lot would be football fans as opposed to traditional tennis fans. That will rub people up the wrong way but its no different to a Davis Cup atmosphere, just at a Grand Slam.

That's totally your prerogative. I always appreciated Suarez but did I love him? No, I hated the snidey shit. Also you cant compare Suarez's mentality to Kyrgios who is the ultimate bottler and has Pogba levels of loving himself. I would love to watch a match at the Aus open but wouldn't waste a cent on Kyrgios. Chances are he'll throw a strop and tank the match. That Wawrinka drama a few years back was unforgivable and nothing he's done since has made me change my mind that he's a whiny little ballsack whose accomplished fuck all really given the talent and hype.

Which is why its funny that he's sniping at Djokovic, it gives him headlines but at the end of the day he got knocked out as usual.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

I'm the opposite. If he was a winner, I'd hate him. He's clearly not going to achieve the feats his talent may suggest that he's capable of, and he definitely won't in an era like this.

But he's probably the only one done with pretending that everything is normal in the sport.

Barty should walk to the final really.

The other side is tough, but I fancy Osaka to come through.

I really hope Serena wins no.24 at the Aus, I'm not a big fan but I respect her talent and think this will truly cement her legacy as the best women's tennis player. Plus I think it will piss off Margaret Court.

It would certainly do that!

I just think Osaka will beat her.  Similar games, but a much younger player.  She certainly wont be able to blow her away like she did with Halep today.

Yeah totally agree, but one can hope. I like Osaka and wouldn't be upset to see her win either.

He's a break down in the third set (1-1) so I'm expecting it some time in the next 5 or 10 minutes.

Of course Zverev bottled that third set. A break up and he loses 5 games in a row.  Zverev is a nasty piece of work though, so I won't be cheering him on today.

Yep, he can seriously get fucked. Hope he gets a nice kick from karma one day soon.

Djokovic through with an amazing comeback, truly astounding with AN INJURY™

Amazing achievement for Djokovic to reach the final with a major injury.

Nadal set to meet the first proper player he's faced so far in the tournament.  He'll do well to beat both Tsitsipas and Medvedev.

Would love to see Medvedev spank Djokovic in the final.

Muchova or Brady in a Grand Slam final. The number of crap players that have either won or got to a final of one in recent years is frankly, quite damning.

I don't know if the court is that quick or I'm just so used to seeing slower courts these days that my mindset has adjusted.

Nadal breaks Tsitsipas to lead 5-3. It's got to be pretty demoralizing for these "Net Gen" players, they're all in their supposed tennis primes and still regularly get beaten by Djokovic, Nadal and Federer at the Slams. I wonder if we've gotten so use to their absolute domination that anything else looks rather weak.

Well this one is going South quickly for Tsitsipas, down a set and a break now. Looks out of ideas other than just smashing the ball.

Agree but it always seems one half of the draw is too heavy with good players and the other not so much.

Plus these average players tend to beat Barty along the way.

I mean Barty had a draw better than Man City gets in cup competitions  to get to the final and messed up -again!

Yeah, I see barely any difference between grass and clay in the second week of Wimbledon.

Hopefully Tsitsipas wins or takes out all of what Rafa has left. I can only see a 4 set win for Rafa now though.

Not watched Brady or Muchova but it's always going to be the case in either men's or women's once the dominant player's start to retire there will be a lull in what we are used to?

No, it’s because the ‘top’ players are either ancient (Williams) or massive chokers (take your pick).

Yes. He has been called out on it more in recent times, and against someone he likes and respects, like Federer, he will tone it down, but it's still an issue.
