Difference with the FA Cup is that United have played in midweek too.

I'm more nervous now than before kick off because of our finishing and seeing the refereeing performance.

You can see that Man U are always trying to spring that early ball.  So far we've dealt with it really well and their only opening came when Fernandes dived for a free-kick.

Hopefully we can put the game beyond them.  Last ditch tackles and shots blocked with backsides surely won't keep us out for much longer.

I'm loving the fact we are leading but this has a repeat of the fa cup game all over again. It's really bad how wasteful we've been.

I get the nerves but it's not really been anything like it. They looked like scoring constantly in that, here they've done nothing.

Talk about a lack of killer instinct.

More of the same up until their box, then keep calm.

Dom grew into game, was sloppy at first. I’d get Jones on pronto, will help keep it better and move them around.

Thought Bradley should have squared it at end to Mo.

We're struggling to score from general play at the moment. Mac was a wonder goal, Nunez a keeper mistake the other night, a corner today and it took a great goal for the Brighton winner. Everyone snatching at chances.

This is so different than the cup game. We were playing the short week that time while United had a whole week rest. When they scored we just ran out of legs.

This time United has the short week on the back of a demoralizing loss. They look so much worse today.

It’ll be alright.

I’m probably more annoyed now than if we were drawing this… how can you have that many good chances against a team who is known to fluke and spawn results and not put them away. I hope Jurgen is giving them a real bollocking.

Jones for Sobo if its still like this at 60 mins then i’d almost consider Eliott for Salah at 70

I swear God I saw it in LIVE broadcast TV, Maguire just grabbed Salah's shoulder from behind in front of the ref.

Like literally fucking, in front, of Anthony Taylor.

And zero foul.

Yeah Mo just laughed at it all. It really is outragous now.

I'm sure everyone is saying it, but we need a second here. We're unnecessarily engaging in midfield duels that suit them. Get another and that should be that.

Is it an opportunity for Gakpo? Nunez has been sloppy, and despite Gakpo’s weakness he is a good finisher given the time, which we have been allowed so far.

This is nothing like the cup game. Controlled intensity and we’d be 3 up but for some last ditch blocks. There will be even more space in the second half and we have great options off the bench. Second goal kills this.
What are you on about? It's exactly like the cup game. We are dominating and looking by far 2/3 levels above- just like in that game.
We just aren't taking our chances again.

Similar story to the FA cup game so far. Totally dominant but wasting chances. Should be 3 up. Hopefully doesn't come back to bite us.

Would like to see a bit more intensity in the press for the front 3 in the 2nd half
They were better than us for the opening 15 minutes of that game.  They've not been better than us for 15 seconds of this game so far!

And our final third passing … so many balls behind the target of the wrong choice

Not surprised we scored from a set piece considering how bad our final ball and/or finishing has been. Had enough opportunities to kill the game and yet we show no composure again.

Agreed. The cup will hopefully also give us the experience of not letting the same thing happen again.

Why was the commentator screaming like mad Garnacho scored that goal in the first minute, it was obvious he was well offside.

They can't generate any attacks. Long balls going to our back line every time. However, as you saw with that fernandes freekick that's all it takes for them to get back into it and for their crowd to get up

Please just get a second! I'd bring Jones on around 65 minute mark to hold on to the ball and frustrate them further.

We played well but too many wasted chances. We started off slowly and gave away too many poor passes but we have improved. The referee needs to get a grip on the pushing and blocking of Virgil at corners (including ours). Anyway United were so busy trying to block Virgil that they left other players free.

Our Xg is 2 and we should have been 2 or 3 up. Hopefully we will take some chances in the match.

I don't think Szoboszlai had a great half and I would be tempted to replace him with Jones who is better with the ball.

Let's stay focused and make the chances count.
