I figured Brook was shot but turns out Khan was even moreso. I'm shocked to see so many people suggesting that Brook could still make a go of it. He needs to retire pronto as he has no business mixing it at the top end anymore. It is a great way to end his career; when for a long time it looked as if his sad capitulation to Crawford would be his last fight. Good on him and I hope he hangs them up now.

He’s just had a nice pay day, but he said in his interview that he’s a prize fighter and the money tempts him.

He’s just beaten his bitter rival and should go out in a high, rather than go for another pay day and get battered. He’s had to have his eye sockets reconstructed in the past so you would think he’d put his health and family first and hang up those gloves, a fight now against a serious hitter could end up leaving him with long term damage.

Brook beat Khan in the same way that Khan beat Barrera. Neither of those wins is legit really.

Luckily for Brook though I don't think there's a big payday out there for him. Who is really desperate to get the ghost of Kell Brook on their CV? I suppose they could make a PPV out of a domestic fight with Conor Benn but I'm not sure that's a great idea. I'm a massive skeptic when it comes to Conor Benn but he's got a dig on him and he could do some damage to that eye.

Terrance Crawford saying he loved the support and atmosphere shown to him on his visit to England and he would love to fight over here.  He'd get more fans over here than back in his hometown for fucks sakes.  ;D

They don't even know who he is in Omaha. Same as Wilder with Tuscaloosa Alabama. Would love for him to batter Sugar Eubank Jr.

He would have to go up three weight classes to fight Ray Eubank Junior, so no hope of that happening. Crawford has already gone up two weight classes in his career and would be about 20-25 pounds lighter than his arrogant bellend of an opponent on fight night.

I'd expect Benn to flatten him to be honest. It is Brook's prerogative of course but I would hope he already has more than enough to retire and enjoy a comfortable life with his health intact.

Much as I dislike Khan, I really hope he stays the fuck out of the ring too. I don't dislike him enough to desire seeing him getting seriously hurt again.

We do love a domestic dust up here, so there is money in him fighting Conor Benn or Eubank at catch weight. Will be interested to see if Liam Smith puts himself in the frame to fight Brook after his bout with Jessie Vargas.

Catterall isn't a bad fighter. Surprised they are that negative. I know Taylor is really good but Catterall has had some good wins.

There is talk that Haney may move up straight away if he doesn't get the Kambosas fight. A Taylor Haney fight would be very good to see before Taylor moves up to Welterweight.

Hopefully means 'could' as in 'there technically is a rematch clause'.

Klitschko brothers to take up arms and fight for Ukraine

Quote
Feb 25 (Reuters) - Former heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko said he would take up arms alongside his brother and fellow Hall of Famer Wladimir Klitschko to fight in what is a "bloody war" following Russia's invasion of their country Ukraine.

Russia launched its invasion by land, air and sea on Thursday following a declaration of war by President Vladimir Putin. An estimated 100,000 people have fled as explosions and gunfire rocked major cities. Dozens have been reported killed. read more

Vitali Klitschko, who has been the mayor of Ukraine's capital Kyiv since 2014, said he was ready to fight.

"I don't have another choice, I have to do that. I'll be fighting," the 50-year-old, known as "Dr Ironfist" during his fighting days, told broadcaster ITV's Good Morning Britain.

Vitali Klitschko said Kyiv was under threat and the main priority was to work with police and military forces to support critical infrastructure including the delivery of electricity, gas and water for its citizens.

He added civilians were ready to defend Kyiv as soldiers.

"I believe in Ukraine, I believe in my country and I believe in my people," Vitali Klitschko said.

Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko enlisted in Ukraine's reserve army earlier this month, saying that the love for his country compelled him to defend it. read more

"The Ukrainian people are strong. And it will remain true to itself in this terrible ordeal. A people longing for sovereignty and peace. A people who consider the Russian people their brothers," he wrote in a post on LinkedIn on Thursday.

"It knows that they basically do not want this war. The Ukrainian people have chosen democracy.

"But: Democracy is a fragile regime. Democracy cannot defend itself; it needs the will of the citizens, the commitment of everyone. Basically, there is no democracy without democrats."

Gennady Golovkin also finalising a deal to face Canelo Alvarez in a trilogy fight on September 17th - assuming Canelo beats Bivol and GGG beats Ryota Murata. [@MikeCoppinger]
