I´hope Wilson plays at CB.. He´s should be able to handle Exeter I think and if we want him to develop, he needs some games. The Big Greek should play as little as possible this season..  I like him though. It´d be nice to see some of our young ones play.. Something like this perhaps, if Skrtel´s fit and if they´re so hellbent on not playing Aquaman, Meireles instead.

                           Doni
Flanagan     Skrtel       Wilson    Robinson/Insua

Maxi         Aquilani     Spearing      Silva

                 Eggnog    Carroll
Don't fuck with Sheryl Crow. Or Russel Crow. Or the guy from the crow. Or crows.

Best staying away from Leslie Crowther, too.... just in case.

Looking forward to seeing the line up for this one. Expect Doni, Wilson, Maxi and Spearing to start.

I expect a strong line up for this one, we've got to take it seriously with us having no European footie this season. Too many changes, especially in defence and you'll nearly always give the opposition a chance, I'd like to see something like:

                              Doni

Flanagan     Carra           Skrtel      Enrique

                   Spearing     Raul
Kuyt                                                 Maxi

                    Ngog       Carroll

Really need Carroll to play and get some goals and sharpness.

Doni

Flanagan
Wisdom
Skrtel
Robinson

Henderson
Spearing
Meireles
Shelvey
Maxi

Carroll

Subs: Reina, Kelly, Aurelio, Kuyt, Sterling, Suarez, Lucas

Don't think Shelvey deserves a start after his performance last week against Sporting.

I'd like us to keep the players who are likely to be starting the next league game fresh, we have a strong enough squad to do that and progress through the early rounds of this competition in my opinion. I'd also like to see Ngoo given a chance up front.

Doni

Flanagan
Wilson
Kyriakos/Skrtel
Robinson

Spearing
Henderson
Shelvey

Maxi
Cole (if there isn't already an offer on the table to take him off our hands)
Ngoo

I'd have the likes of Kuyt, Mereiles and Downing on the bench in case things don't go our way, as well as Sterling and Suso.

How are the squad getting down there? I don't think they'd have players with fitness concerns sat on a coach for 14 out of 24 hours or whatever. That'd be no Agger, Johnson, Aurelio and probably no Meireles, Suarez or Carroll IMO.

Skrtel
Kyrgiakos

Not a big fan of the Skrtel-Kyrgiakos partnership myself, always looks like they're more likely to make a major mistake when their paired together. Think we should play Carra alongside Skrtel to help him through his 1st game back, playing with Soto puts Martin on edge IMO.

Will be interesting to see who gets selected. Only a few days before the end of the window will it be a few of Rodolfo's boys or the unwanted put in the shop window?

I'd rather NOT see any of...
Insua, Degen, Poulsen, Cole, Aqua, Ngog

Would definately like to see either starting or on the bench...
Flanno, Wilson, Robinson, Sterling, Coady, Spearing, Shelvey

Why? You think he should be rewarded for not putting in a shift when asked to drop down and play alongside the youngsters? I'd have him on the bench.

maybe wouldn't call it rewarded, no. To be honest I didn't catch the Sporting game mate, but I dont think he should be scapegoated either. He's young and developing, he'll have off days.

Wouldn't mind if we see Insua, Aqua or Ngog. The other three have no self-respect and are more than happy to sit and collect their hefty wages, wasting the end of their careers and can fuck right off.

Definitely not wanting the lad to be scapegoated, it was just disappointing to see him appear to put such little effort in last week when he was meant to be helping them out and then witness a completely different 2nd half performance from the team when he was taken off. Not only that but I'm not too sure he's suited to playing alongside Spearing who's in more need of a match IMO.

Exeter's results in their League so far this season.

Stevenage 0 - 0 Exeter
Exeter 0 - 2 MK Dons
Exeter 1 - 2 Brentford
Preston 1 - 0 Exeter.

They are in the relegation zone of League 1.

With that in mind, we should beat them fairly comfortably.

Skrtel was on the bench yesterday, wasn't he? Would lead me to think that he was ok to play if called upon.

Don't really see the point in playing Cole, Henderson has been playing safe and feeling his way into the team. Playing him against a team like this and hopefully he puts in a more assured performance will go a long way in helping him settle.

Yeah you're right - the other one was FA Cup wasn't it?

I think Exeter will be right up for this fixture. There should be a rule where the teams can opt to move the fixture. The revenue they could have got from an Anfield game would fund them for years.
