He's been there just over four years and he's in spitting distance of Barcelona's all-time top five goalscorers. That's an astonishing achievement at a club that size.

Impressive stuff from Suarez yesterday - and also his time at Barcelona overall...

Since 2014, he has scored 9 out of 22 goals scored by Barcelona in 9 League El Clasico.

Five years today he scored that ridiculous four against Norwich
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

One of the best to ever play for us, but ultimately didn't win anything and pretty much engineered a move away. I'd say that's why he won't be given legend status rather than anything else he done.

Was amazed to see he's 32 already

Some of the goals he scored for us were just insane, amazing technique and he seemed willing to shoot from absolutely anywhere.

That 4 goal Norwich performance just had me laughing every time he scored at it was like everything he touched was just guaranteed to go in

Yeah I agree with this.

I'm old enough to have seen both Kenny and Rushie play too, but I'm not one of those fans who refuses to recognise that even though Kenny and Rushie were great, there were other players who were more lethal on the pitch than them, for different reasons.

E.g. Kenny was world-class. But if you had only one space left in your Best Ever LFC 11 you'd probably stick Suarez in due to his greater versatility and sheer energy and to terrorise the opposition.

Just went on the Barca forum and read this:

He can't run, he can't defend, he can't control a football, he can't pass a football (save for a wonderful cross or though-ball here and there), I'm talking the simple, basic stuff.

Luis was the world's best 9 for quite some time, at Liverpool and here with us. But, he should ring Masche and learn a thing or two about leaving with a bit of grace. He's below our level now.

I've not watched Barca, has his decline really been that bad?  Hard to believe.

In fairness, his all around game hasnt been great but at 32, its understandable. It wouldnt surprise me if they turn their team over a bit and his role being one of them.

I'm pretty sure their fans were saying exactly this at the same time last season. I suppose they'll have to look for a replacement soon, but surely almost anyone is going to be a downgrade, even on current form.

As a versatile backup/rotation forward on a two/three year contract he'd be great I think. He turned 32 last month, its not as if he's ancient.

Wages.

We'll get loads of senior players off the books for next season, though. Sturridge, Clyne, Lallana, Moreno, Mignolet, Origi, likely Matip, possibly even Milner, especially if Leeds get promoted.

For one, I dont think we will offload so many senior players. For a team that's already starved off the bench, offloading so many senior players would only spell doom for our ambitions in the short term with no guarantees of success in the middle to long term.

Secondly, I dont think we will alter our wage structure to facilitate the return of a single player, no matter how prolific he was.

Thirdly. If Suarez hasn't scored in a league built out of technicality, what makes you think that he is going to score in a league that's infamous for its physical game?

In my view, Milner, Matip and Lallana will become backups. Origi possibly out on loan. Sturridge, Clyne, Mignolet and Moreno will definitely leave and 5-6 players of equal or better quality coming in.

He is well and truly over the hill, he keeps banging them in purely because of the side he is in but if you actually watch him play he is a shadow of his former self that sometimes can turn the clock back for a game or two. Would be a poor idea to bring him back, he never seemed like the sort that could handle taking "a step back" in his career, he never did until now anyways.

If Suarez available for cheap and is willing to rotate with Firmino I wouldn't mind bringing him back. Prime Suarez is the perfect CF in our current system but he has declined a bit. Wonder if he has the energy to play like Bobby at his age.
