'Dereliction of duty' was something that became popular when describing a club's reluctance to buy for a perceived gap in the squad.

Feels a tad strong for what amounts to a bit of a difference of opinion.

Luckily not seen it much this summer but expect a return of 'Dereliction of duty' in early September
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Pele has to be one of them surely.

Indeed, but I thought we were just keeping it local(ish).  And I'm only Shirley at the weekends.

I like it when we are 'preparing to swoop' for a target player.

I imagine the transfer boys perched on the Main Stand roof awaiting the right moment to swoop down and snatch their target like a hungry pterodactyl.

Chelsea “gazump” Arsenal to sign Mudryk .

Mudryk cost £90m but is seen as a “franchise player” .

Generational talent and the off season both do my head in.  Back in the day you would just say he’s a great player and the season’s ended.  More Americanisation of the English language.  I’m still not having a Marathon being called a Snickers or Opal fruits being called Starburst.   😃

In Germany theyve bastardised the lot. Snickers are called ‘Racers’ and Mars Bars are ‘Titans’. Kit Kats are ‘Choco Breaks’ and Twixs are ‘Jives’

I say Germany, I mean Aldi which we all know translates as ‘Germany in a Bungalow’

Similar to "unveiling a player" - I'd love to see a signing video of a player appearing from behind a magician's cloak with a loud TA-DA!

The phrase "Premier League proven" does my head in when it comes to buying a player or looking at a new manager, as if it's a different sport over here or something. The likes of Souness and Merson are the worst for this type of shite. They don't know "our game".

Brilliant, needs to be done more ;D

Just listened to a TAW preview of our Newcastle game and a guy on there said it would be "literally criminal" if we don't sign another player. Not sure it'll hold up in court but we'll see...

Incorrect and overuse of the word "Litterally" is one of my biggest pet peaves in life in general.

One thing when I was on twitter I hates was the "Welcome Player X" tweet. Do we really need to welcome them on social media. Literally drove me mad.

Not really jargon but this year's obsession with photoshopping potential players in the club's kit is doing my head in. Now we have pictures floating around the ether of Caicedo and Lavia in a Liverpool kit till the end of time ffs. No need, I can imagine what they'll look like if they sign.
