Considering taking the 5/6 on Goosen to beat Els.

Els is playing like a drain of late, missed the cut here last year and managed 45th the year before. If Goosen makes the cut I don't think he'll be far away from having it tied up on Friday really. I certainly can't see Els blowing anyway away.

For the players I think i have found an absolutley stunning bit of value on the Spread.

Kenny Perry is 61-64 (buy 61 Sell 64).  And the cut is top 70.  The market states that the maximum make up is 70.  So if Kenny misses the cut the maximum loss for a £1 stake is £9.

Kenny is 10-1 for a top 20 finish with the bookies but this spread will give 41-1 if he finishes in say 20th and 50-1 for a top 10 finish (25's best with bookies).  50th will get you 11-1 etc

Perry has vast experience here at Sawgrass and makes the cut more often than not (T-22 last year). He's playing shit hot on the champions tour this year also.

Am I right in what I am saying regarding the spread?

Not so good from Mr Woods. +5 after 6

In fairness he has been injured and I feel he rushed back for this.  Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show up tomorrow.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's had enough before he's finished this round. Hasn't even played a full 18 holes since the Masters. Add that to not being fit enough and the course not suiting him at all, he's wasting his time out there.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Oh bollocks!!! My link to the golf observer site that shows past results of a trourney automatically defaults to The Houston Open.  Maggert did finish 6th in that last year but as for THIS tournement he hasnt been near the top 20 since 2003.

Had a fiver on top 10 and top 20 before i realized my gaff. - If it comes in which i seriously doubt it's pure fluke.

Phew!!! NR

Now who to waste the returned tenner on?

To the people who did bet on tiger, may I ask why?  There just doesn't seem any logic to me.  Not played for a while, still not back playing properly as of yet and he went off favourite?

Anyone see Hoffman snap his putter in half last night? Also showed you him in this last year chucking his putter in the lake when he 3 putted from 6 ft. Funny as fuck. ;D

Mate its easy to say that now.I backed him and tipped him but it was purely from a value point of view. Okay he was favorite and there were multiple reasons not to back him but some week he is gonna win at big odds and we won't get that value again.

Why would someone back LFC at half time in Istanbul? Why do people back Ronnie O'Sullivan in snooker? He is a loose canon but in any given event he can produce winning performances regardless of build up to the tourney, odds, etc. We nearly saw Tiger do this at the Masters. He had no right to win but on the final round he pulled a ridiculous round out of the hat and put himself in contention.

For me it came down to Tiger Woods + 16/1 + 6 Places = Worth a punt.

to be honest if someone told me or you that they were backing Mark O'Meara and he withdrew after nine holes we'd be saying the same thing.

I'ev no regrets in backing him but I understand your argument.

I would have said the same at the start mate, I wasn't criticising as such, just looking for the reasons which you have gave.

My only argument is that he hadn't played since The Masters and Sawgrass isn't a course you can just jump on without any preparation.

Great grinding Round by Perry - never gave up and rewarded by a birdie on 17 to finish -1.  Projected cut is anything below E Par so Kenny looks ok for the time being. Blow wind..BLOW.

Its going to very interesting to see what the spread will offer on the Perry sell later when the day is complete. I dont think it will be enough for me to close out and in any case I have faith in Perry going low tomorrow.  Did this to a tenner stake so happy with any finishing position above 61!!!

Apparantley Goydos had an Eagle chance on 16 and 3 putted then went in the drink on 17. Muppet.

Bevied but here's my assement at the half way stage

Donald - Not sure he's got the nuts to finish this but we'll find out on Sunday (I doubt it)
Tom's  - Big day on Saturday - Can he put 3 big rounds in on the bounce - I think he can but will struggle on Sunday
Glover - Expected a down day today after his rush fuelled 67 yesterday coming off a win. If he's within 2 shots of the lead after Saturday I'd expect him to win.

McDowell - Had a fluke birdie on the 6th yesterday that suggests this might be his week. Could well be.

Going pretty well for me so far, got Donald and Mahan right up there. Cink further back but he's good at creeping up the leaderboard as the week goes by. I think McDowell wins this though.
