‘Watch Thread’ preventing shutdown
« on: September 10, 2020, 09:43:42 am »
Just recently started getting an error message that ’watch thread is preventing your computer from shutting down’

I have never heard of this program before. Does anyone know anything about it? I am getting a little paranoid that someone might have hacked my laptop,

Is it this?  ;D

Have you tried looking at what programs are running in the background?

See if you can find the process in Task Manager, right click on it and click Properties.

You should see a location of where the file is stored which might give you a clue.

Thanks guys. I ended up wiping everything off and reinstalling windows. Lost a fair few very important files in the process but hey, better than having to buy a new laptop.
