Lot of people slightly peeved about the term "bottling it" I see. You could make the case that we bottled the league, but I'm not going to say it, because I don't necessarily believe that was the case. Fully that is. Beating Chelsea wouldn't have won us the league. We still had two other matches.
However in Atletico's case, a win last week would have done it for them. One win. In the second to last game. Avoid defeat and that would be enough today as well. I'm sorry, but if you can't do it under those circumstances than yes, you've fucking bottled it. You could go back months and say but they dropped points here, there and that's where they lost it. Although technically correct, it's just a smokescreen for failure. If you go into the last two matches in the position that they were in and still don't do it, then you've thrown it away, and I don't care what anyone else says. It's what history will remember as well.
That said, I really want them to do it. They deserve it more.
