Question from a ‘wool’. 😅 how many Liverpool born players are there in the U23s and who are they? Just curious.

I’m not going to list all of them, but their birthplace is actually written on the official site. But I’d say about half of them are from Liverpool or nearby. Norris, Quansah, Jonas, Hill, Corness, Stewart, Lewis, Glatzel, Morton are all from the area, and a few more.

Of all the young kids on loan who is doing quite well? I know Sepp was playing regularly at Schalke until he got injured. Bradley seems to be going well at Bolton along with Morton at Blackburn but other than that I don't know how anyone else is doing

Clarksons still starting most games for Aberdeen who are 3rd in the SPL so thats good going I think. Balagizi was playing regularly for Crawley but has been out since mid-September with injury. Adam Lewis seems to be a regular for Newport but pretty sure he's not got a future here.

Blackburn got battered 3-0. Not sure how Morton faired, but going off the stats it looks like Burnley played them off the park.

They did and I barely heard his name mentioned apart from a couple of free kicks he took.  It took me a while to realise he was actually playing.

Some mad stats with Blackburn this season. They'd have gone top today if they'd won yet they lost their 9th league game of the season and it's not even halfway through.

Every game they've gone behind in they've not come back and every game they've gone ahead in they've not lost the lead and no draws. In 21 league games.

Couple of things

Whats Bobby Clark like? Been on bench a few times this season (first team) but havent really heard of him before?.

Is it just me or our young forwards at youth level seem to all pick up injuries just when they hit their stride?

Why is he injured?

Bobby Clark is highly rated. Hence his first team call up’s. I believe he trains with the first team now.

Thought he looked good when he played against Derby, very lively and confident on the ball.  Still not sure what his best position is though, maybe the same type of player as Harvey?

He's an 8, but he's played a few games in the front line at youth level.  I really like the look of him, nimble, mobile, works hard and has good technique.  Closest comparison I can think of is someone like Mason Mount.

Definitely in recent years. Brewster, Glatzel, Layton Stewart, Gordon. All out for like a full year as well at least.

The 2nd and 3rd were carbon copies of each other so much that I thought the TV had gliched and gone back to before the 2nd goal.

There were a few 16 year olds but losing 4-0 and 4 straight defeats, pretty fair description of not going well at the moment ?

No sign of Musialowski who I understand is a bit out of favour at the moment. Did a bit of digging and found this from three weeks ago.

It'd be a shame if he doesn't fulfil his potential.

https://www.sport.pl/pilka/7,65080,29136387,mateusz-musialowski-zagral-tak-ze-w-liverpoolu-nie-wytrzymali.html

Google Translate:

Musiałowski's excitingly promising career seems to be slowing down. In the youth team of Liverpool, the Pole played only 350 minutes this season. Jurgen Klopp no longer invites him to training as often as before. Back in April 2021, he had him take the ball and swing with Trent Alexander-Arnold to prepare the Englishman for playing against Real Madrid 's Vinicius in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

"At first glance, he is a phenomenal football player, but with each subsequent look, his shortcomings are noticed. He delights in short videos that become viral, but matches do not last several dozen seconds," wrote Dawid Szymczak in September on Sport.pl.

ournalists in the UK seem to see the same thing. Musiałowski played for the Liverpool U-21 team in a friendly international tournament. His team won against Dinamo Zagreb 2:0. According to the English, this match was a kind of "interrogation" for Musiałowski. And it probably did not turn out the best, since the paragraphs devoted to the Pole were entitled "Malowski's misfortune".

The 19-year-old has drawn attention since joining the Reds' academy in 2020, seeking to live up to his moniker 'Polish Messi'. While there were some great moments up front, finding repetition proved to be a stumbling block. Musialowski too often tried to measure with several Dinamo Zagreb players voluntarily, but to little effect, resulting in cries of 'Matty!' from frustrated members of the coaching staff standing on the sidelines," reports a journalist from the local website liverpoolecho.co.uk.

his relationship coincides with what one of the people close to the club from Anfield said in an interview with Sport.pl. “At the academy they are annoyed by his many losses and his attitude in games and training. Wandering around, lack of commitment to defense and not fulfilling tactical tasks. The reserves are already the vestibule of adult football, and Musiałowski is not ready for it yet.
