No, the built-in backup is known for being rubbish. Your problem here is most likely an update issue as leighton said rather than a specific problem with the backup, but it's still not exactly reliable. In future you're better copying the entire game folder of the game you want to back up from program files\steam\steamapps\common\ onto a memory stick or portable HD and then copying it back into the steamapps\common folder on the other PC. Then just start Steam and it should detect the game as 100% downloaded when you try to install it. Remember to back up your save file though, sometimes they're in different folders in My Documents.

You're right and that is one of the things I hate about Steam. I did it the way you described for some other games, but it caused problems from time to time as well... :(

Steam never works on my pc.

Starts to update and gets to 27% and crashes every time.

The program itself? Try deleting everything in the folder (except games)

The "Commandos" games available for €2,49 each today (So I'm guessing about £2 each). Really good games, albeit supremely difficult - good for a challenge anyway!

Just got every GTA for 7€ and all... The only one I haven't played is "Episodes from Liberty City" so that's basically what I was paying for, don't mind having all the others thrown in!

The "Indie Royale" bundle has 4 games which you can activate on Steam - ARES, Nimbus, Gemini Rue and Sanctum, plus 2 bits of DLC for Sanctum and possible "further surprises" at some point before it ends (about a day and 16 hours from now).

It works sort of like the Humble Indie bundles, but for this one you have to beat the minimum price, which is currently £2.57.

Still a great deal for what you get - Nimbus is really addictive, it's one of those "just one more go" time trial games and has friend leaderboards. The other 3 games are meant to be highly rated as well.

Link

They also promise to be doing at least 3 similar bundles with different games, one every two weeks or so. Could be a great way to build your games list cheaply if the other bundles have games as good as this one.

Sanctum is ace. Love it - it's so chilled out - a blaster where you can wobble about. Ace.

And you can play co-op online as well.

Just picked up Dungeon Defenders for £2.50 (plus all its DLC for around £1.80) from the daily wishlist sale. As you probably know already, if you visit the daily deal page every day (don't have to buy the game), you get entered into a draw to win the top 10 games on your wishlist. 10 winners every day, until the Christmas Sale (thought to be December 19th).

generally that only applies to steam games or publishers who are 'in bed' with Valve, i doubt it would apply here

it will usually tell you when you're buying the pack though (before you pay)

For people who have it. How good is the game? I am on the Steam Forum and there seems to be a few complaints. 25 USD is still a bit of money and I am wondering if it is really worth it if there are some issues.

I thought Asylum was great so I do like the series.
