Mane didn't do it to the manager when being subbed on. Him kicking off after getting subbed about his teammate not passing is not the same, no matter how many times people repeat it.

I've never seen any Liverpool player act that way when getting subbed on. It was more like latter-day Ronaldo behaviour.

I guess us seeing it makes it worse, but Millie was literally telling the same man to ‘Shut the fuck up’ and almost coming to blows with him.

Was a shit thing for Salah to do and he should be utterly ashamed of himself, but I gather Klopp is more forgiving than many on here.

I think we are putting too much emphasis on the switch to Head Coach. I fully expect recruitment to be a collaborative approach, and rightly so. Scouts, data nerds, head coach, sporting director… they will all have a key role to play. The head coach won’t be able to sign just anyone he fancies, to do his mates a favour. And I very much doubt he will have players forced on him he does not want. They are all grown ups, and professionals, and collaboration will be key.

No prob

But forget that. Today is the day I saw the worst segment of officiating I can remember.

What Anthony Taylor did today was criminal. His actions after he made the shit call to actively instruct the keeper to play act is unmatched. I can't remember worse, other fans will just laugh out of rivalry. Thats why it'll continue

It's not an excuse for our play or anything like that. But that behaviour should not be allowed to go unnoticed

An absolute scandal

It's criminal that he's allowed near any of our games considering where he comes from.

Not sure about that, we’ve already seen Mane do that in the past and there weren’t widespread calls for him to never play for Liverpool again.

Mane didn't do it to the manager when being subbed on. Him kicking off after getting subbed about his teammate not passing is not the same, no matter how many times people repeat it.

Listen to the Anfield Index podcast about this subject. It covers it well.
In this respect I actually agree with you about how managers should chose the players. But perhaps I'm and particularly you are dinosaurs.

There are a couple of things John.

Firstly what doesn't get mentioned very often is how often these teams who have a Head Coach/Sporting Director model change their coach. The coach becomes disposable. If you were looking for a parallel in this Country then it would be Chelsea. If you were looking for the top clubs in Europe then you would look at Bayern and Madrid.

It sounds great the Sporting Director building a squad that extends beyond the lifespan of the Coach. The problem is it creates a dressing room with more power than the Coach. Look at how many times the Chelsea, Madrid or Bayern dressing room has downed tools and seen off a Coach.

Instead of the Sporting director being held to account he just blames the Coach for not utilising the players properly.

Note his pass today for MacAllister's header..... a straight ball from central midfield to his head that made it so difficult to do anything with. He's played many similar balls this season.

To complain about this defence-splitting pass is just weird. It was a gorgeous pass. One you didn't see coming. Nor me. Nor the defence. Mac Allister fucked it up. It's as simple as that. And then to complain that "he's played many similar balls this season"! Beyond weird.

I don't know if many realise but risky long ball football isn't Slot's style. Don't think he will change that even for Trent's right foot. It will be progressive build-up. Slot's 9 needs to play.
What does this mean in real terms?

Darwin this season is averaging 22 passes a game, completing 71%. He is playing 2.2 progressive passes per game and is at 0.23 xA.

Feyenoord's primary number 9 is averaging 15 passes a game with a 67% completion rate. He is playing 1.4 progressive passes per game and is at 0.13 xA.

In case anyone's wondering why I'm quitting ...

To be honest, I've benefitted more than most, but it's simply not a level playing field any more. Also, I have better things to do in the hours leading up to a match than scouring the internet for leaked team news. ;D

And yet, not doing it means having no chance of winning either. I'm running the PL, so I see games decided by a point or two all the time, typically on the lineup. Same in the knockout cups. And even in the overall standings, a point per game on the lineup (which is probably an underestimate, especially on days like today) can mean 60 extra points over the course of the season. Not to mention that knowing the lineup increases your chances of getting the first scorer right.

I think it's ruined the game personally, but I don't want to ruin it for everyone else, so I'll shut up now. :)

Wasn't aware of leaky teams being released early onsocials as i'm not on them. Can't be arsed with that so I'll be bowing out too as that's no fun. Just wanted to thank you for all your graft and bonhomie, Bo. The European comp was always me fave and the least corrupted it seems. I'll miss that most. All the best, pal  :wave

I feel for the players and the club staff right now as I'm sure they're all gutted and knackered. It's a good character building experience for the younger players and gives a taste of the level required to win. Other than that, nothing to see here. We take our league cup and get on w it

Knackered? How much football has Trent, Salah, Konate, Quansah, Robertson, Jones, Alisson, Gravenberch etc played recently? Not much. Isn't there a reason we should have a squad so we can rotate? fresh legs or are they knackered too?
