Being a bit worried that your kid is not doing as well in school as his potential is and then meeting his teacher who then tells you he's at the very top of his class. Puts a smile on a worried dad's face.

Trained today for sixth day in a row. Absolutely busted myself today playing football to the point I could hardly stand when it ended

Finishing a drawing that's taken tens of hours to complete.

Started a drawing of Berninis Jesus sculpture last week. After 15 hours in total (in spare time after work) I finally finished it today and just sat looking at my work remembering the process and seeing how much i've improved over the years

Always spot bits i'm not completely satisfied with when i take pictures of my drawings. Still clear room for improvement but not bad after 4 years without drawing though

Met up with some old uni mates last night. Known them 22 years, hadn’t seen a couple of them for about 5 years. Great night full of piss taking and recalling old memories. Just really nice.

Went for a walk in the country on Saturday, stopped to eat an orange and a horse came over to check me out. I gave her a piece of an energy bar and could feel her breath on my hand as she gently took the food.

She was soon joined by her foal so I repeated offering a bit if the bar. The greedy little bugger nearly took my hand off.

I stood there for about ten minutes stroking and feeding mother and foal in piece and quiet.

Facebook showing me a video from 2011 of my two kids playing in the kitchen. They were 3 and 1 at the time and were laughing and yelling, it was brilliant.

I never really noticed it at the time, but the eldest had a proper Scouse accent back then. Luckily he doesn't have a strong Manc accent now, as it is a lot softer where we live.

A strange one, but when people set a work email as low priority with the little downwards arrow. There's a poetic melancholy to it, an acknowledgement that sometimes the job is about counting out time.

Plus it means I can safely delete it unread.

Walking on a brisk night, with the fall leaves crunching under your footsteps, with a car not in sight and the only light from the streetlight on the corner.

You look down and see a piece of green and white paper. Pick it up and it is money. Continue on and see another. Then even more! When you are finished picking the "litter" up and pocketed it, you realize you are within a block of your favorite pub and the dispensary is three blocks away, with an extra $160.
