And lo and behold, it appears that the game hasn't changed that much.  It's still played with a round ball and 11 players and Kenny appears to know how to get the players to play it pretty well.  It makes me sick to think of all the opportunities lost because of incompetence at the top.  But, at least, we are getting a chance to try to rectify some of the damage done now.

Absolutely spot on. You can talk tactics and numbers all day long but take a look at the manc bastards and learn a lesson. It's about getting the right people involved (Kenny identified this VERY quickly in getting in Clarke and keeping Sammy) to help around you and to get a squad of players believing in themselves and eachother. That's the same whether you're at the top or the bottom, premier league or conference. It'll never change.

That's not to say the game hasn't change in some aspects and there isn't space for that, but the essence of management is the same and always will be.
It's wonderful, it's marvellous, it's 3-3

Saw one post on here that said it would be the Villa game. Why remove the impact by announcing it at an away game? This will be made Sunday.

Announcement at the spuds game will be made - it will be a masterstroke by J W Henry and Ayre and will not only fuck Spuds right over, but more importantly will see a wave of emotion, belief and support that will send shockwaves down the East Lancs road where the celebrations for their No19 will ring hollow as the realisation dawns that in reality they have another two Champions league wins before they can lay claim to being the most successful British football club and that they will never knock us off our perch as next season, the Redmen are coming and there's nothing you can do to stop us.

At least that's how it should be. Announce it at the last home game and boost everyone and whip 'em into an even bigger frenzy.

The most important people at Liverpool Football Club are the people who want to be here

I am sure Kenny may be the last guy who would sign his contract in front of the Kop at the last home game but I would love it. Not sure if he is a man of few words but when he does speak everyone else listens. It will be interesting to see when the pressure / expectations are raised for next season but this next game philosophy, give 100% and see where it gets us has worked for years. Kenny rarely had any issue identifying attacking prospects and I think Clarke knows what works for a defender so as a team I think we have a good management core for the next few years I hope.
I have a simple philosophy: Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi5-V75v-6I

Actually, we didn't all know.  In fact, a large section of our support were against it.  And you can be sure that the suits were against it, probably advising the Americans not to do it with bollocks like "If you put him in and it doesn't work out, you'll never get rid of him.".  It's actually a really good sign and great credit to them that Henry and co. listened to the right people and did take a chance on him.

"In fact a large a large section of our support were against it"? Perhaps where you come from mate, but from my perspective i.e. the Harry and Anfield the intensity for Kenny was palpable.

Just on that, Vinnie does get ripped by kenny, every week, but credit to him, i think they both enjoy it. Vinnie's obviously got set questions to ask, which Kenny just bats away. But the last part of the Press Conference where there's the squad question is really entertaining.

"Come on kenny you put me on the spot"

"Ah, But ian promted ye!"

Cracked me up, brilliant stuff, and a really good watch!

He said Neil Lennon would be disappointed that the press are not discussing the performance of his team.  It was just one guy of of 20,000 etc.

Cheers for the links.

It was mentioned yesterday that Kenny asked for the cameras to be turned off at the end and he spoke to the journos before leaving. Anyone know what was said?

I only saw a snipet of it, but he basicaly thanked the Journo's for their support and said that the club felt it right to tell them more or less first as thanks for them turning up week in week out, then the sound was turned off.........

No offense Garsto, but I'm asking, not saying. He's returned from his loan and he is training with the 1st team- I think it begs the question.

If he was still out on loan or had been training with the reserves, that question would not even be relevant, but with the above in mind it is. So, anyone?

Do you see Werner in a trackie? Where does Ayala belong? The reserves. That being so, who told him he should be training with Skrtel etc...
Was it Comolli? Werner perhaps? It must be Sammy Lee then... or maybe it's Segura...

Seriously- what the heck is up with all the aggro? Its a fuck-ing question, based on fuck-ing observation.

No offence mate, just kidding ;) I think Ayala's not in our Premier League squad so he can't really play. Maybe Kenny tries to boost him up after the loan spell and see how he does in training? That's the only reason I could think of.

People were talking before he got the job again, about how he "had been out of the game too long". We all knew it was bollocks.

While Roy was still in charge most people on this very forum were arguing that he had been out of the game too long and that he should not risk damaging his reputation. On the flipside they thought it would be good if Kenny could take over in a caretake capacity while the club searched for a long term appointment (i.e someone good).

To say that "we all knew it was bollocks" is simply not true.
I'm a believer.

Am i the only one who thinks comollis accent is hilarious a mixture of yorkshire, manchester and french
Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless,
who strove and worried so that others could share the glory,
and who built up a family of people who could hold their heads up high and say

                                              'We're Liverpool'.

Ahh you're right. Still, it'd be odd if he was on the bench.
Would it really be that odd? I'd imagine we'll be getting rid of Soto in the summer and Kenny will want to see if Ayala can cut it. CB is definitely an area we need to strengthen, but I reckon Kenny will give Ayala some pitch time.
