That's made me laugh. I thought the gesture of a major band doing a request was one of the coolest things I've seen. Now you mention it, the song was a very lame choice  :)

Pearl Jam give you the choice to play anything you want and you choose 'Come Back'  :butt. It was the only part of the night where I shook my head rather than nodded it in appreciation.

Amazing gig though. Band were boss and the crowd were too. Place went mental for Jeremy and Alive. Pearl Jam have a unique connection with the crowd. The make what is an arena gig seem very intimate.

2nd gig last night was very different in terms of setlist. Must have played 25-30 songs each night, and only a handful was played both nights. Would say Wednesday was more hits/Ten heavy, whereas last night's setlist would have excited the Pearl Jam fanatic more than the casual fan.

Was quite a lot of Vs last night - thought the version of Daughter with WMA as the ending was superb.

Roll on the Isle of Wight festival.........

A mate sent me the set list from last night. It was superb, but I thought that Wednesdays was the best I have heard. Seen them a fair few times now, and never thought Release would ever start a set!

Awesome tour last year! Went to Manchester x2 and Amsterdam.

Unfortunately couldnt stay for the second night in Amsterdam, but from what i have heard, its being described as one of the great Pearl Jam live shows. A fan club member was chosen to handpick the setlist in its entirity! This is a bootleg any die hard fan must own!

Roll on a new album later this year and hopefully a European Tour next year! :wave

New album out in October - Lightning Bolt.

New song out now - Mind your manners.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhODYyZVL6Y

They've just played an iconic gig in Wrigley Field. In autumn there is a US tour followed by The Big Day Out Festival tour of Australia and New Zealand in Jan/Feb.

Just hoping a European tour is going to be announced for Spring/Summer 2014. They seemed to have warmed to playing in Europe over the last 5 years or so. Hardly played in UK/Europe between 1997 and 2005 so feel like I'm making up for lost time by seeing them loads in the last few years!

I really like the new song and greatly anticipate the new album. I may try to catch one of the US shows near me (Brooklyn or Philadelphia) although it will likely end up costing me a pretty penny as they're sold out.

What does everyone think of the new album then?

'Mind your Manners' and 'Sirens' point to a potentially decent album.

Pearl Jam have announced two huge UK dates for 2014.

The grunge rockers will play Leeds Arena and Milton Keynes Bowl on July 8 and 11 respectively as part of a wider 11-date European tour. The dates will come after the band headline Poland's Open'er Festival on July 3 and Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium on July 5.

Last month (December 30) on the US leg of the band's tour, frontman Eddie Vedder shaved off a fan's dreadlocks after taking a song request during the gig.

Pearl Jam band were performing in Spokane, Washington, when Vedder spotted a fan holding up a sign offering to undergo the makeover if Peal Jam played 'Brain Of J', from their album 'Yield', during the gig. The fan was brought on stage and the song was duly played, fulfilling his request to headbang one last time before losing his hair.

Pearl Jam released their much-anticipated tenth studio album ‘Lightning Bolt’ in October. It is their first studio album in four years, and their 10th to date. It debuted at Number Two in the UK Official Album Charts.

Pearl Jam will play:

Leeds Arena (July 8)
Milton Keynes Bowl (11)

Tickets go on-sale at 9am on Friday, December 20 priced at £55 in Leeds and £65 for Milton Keynes not including fees).

Would've loved to see them again but looks like its approx £73 (incl. fees).  Seems a bit much.

No idea mate.

The price is definitely putting people off. Doors open at 2pm so it'll be like a little mini festival.

I've got my fingers crossed for Soundgarden as support.

Like it myself though I wouldn't say it's a classic. My problem is that I think it tails off a bit after the 1st 6 or 7 songs. I quite like Sirnes though I know it's not to everyone's taste! I actually think 'Getaway' or 'Infallible'  are probably the stand out tracks for me.

Lightning Bolt is not up there with a No Code or Yield. But it's probably better than the likes of Backspacer and Riot Act.

If I could choose (and being semi-realistic).....

Gaslight Anthem
Weezer
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam

£75 would be an absolute bargain then!

Heard The Pixies, Soundgarden and Gaslight Anthem mentioned. I think's it's mainly because they are doing European tours at the same time.

There's rumours that the Milton Keynes gig hasn't sold as well as planned and thats why a second Leeds night hasn't be added. If that's the case then they'll need good support acts to shift the remaining tickets.

Just read that they've sold out the San Siro gig they are doing (~60K). That would be a good place to watch Pearl Jam.

I think so too.

I was hoping for maybe Soundgarden (with a different drummer), GasLight Anthem or even Alice in Chains.

Not sure it'll help them shift lots of tickets having BRMC as the main support act.

It does seem underwhelming....

Saw Foo Fighters at the same venue and it was about £55 for Foo's, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World and Hot Rats.

Far better value for money there if you ask me.

There a few rumours going round that the Milton Keynes gig will be Pearl Jam (for a 3 hour set) and 2 support acts. Obviously BRMC would be one of these support acts. Whether they are the smaller or the larger of the headline acts is not known.

I think Pearl Jam are stretching themselves to shift +50,000 tickets for a gig in the UK at £75 a ticket with BRMC as the main headline act.

That Foo's line up at MK Bowl was boss. I was hoping for something along those lines for Pearl Jam. Here's hoping to someone else being added to the bill soon.

Its not a mini festival, been to foo fighters at venues like this before, they literally just let you in and you have to sit there for hours to keep a good spot.

But yeah, i would definitely go if the price wasnt so steep.

So has anyone been to the any of the European tour gigs so far?

Or anyone going to Leeds or MK Bowl next week? MK Bowl gig has Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and OFF! as support.

The gig at the San Siro a few weeks ago looked immense. Must have been a large crowd since it was 2/3rd's the stadium plus the pitch. No support band either. They just played the Italy World Cup game on the big screens instead

Going to try and get tickets for the second night in London, once it's rescheduled,  I imagine a lot of people won't be able to make it.  PJ don't usually do the same setlist twice, so will be like a completely separate gig to the first night at the O2.

Listened to it a couple of times this morning. Very much a departure but you can still tell it’s them, although that’s probably just because of Eddie’s voice.
I’m not sure what to make of it yet, it’s not blown me away, probably need a few more listens.

I’ve seen people liken it to Talking Heads, but I’m not really familiar with their stuff.

Albums out end of March isn’t it?

I originally got tickets for it, but had to pass them onto a friend as I can’t make it. Saw them last time at the O2 but they weren’t at their best compared to when I’ve seen them before
