O2 is looking like £30 upfront and £77 per month for 20gb of data.. not cheap.

Think the upfront cost will be more than that. I paid £40 upfront and then £68 a month for 10gb of data and unlimited minutes amd texts.  Thats for the 256gb Space Grey model.

That’s from their website I think... might be for the 64mb version?

Yeah could be right there. The 64gb version of the 8 Plus was a bit cheaper both in upfront cost and tariff price.

Still in two minds.

I've always ordered for day of release but think this time I'm going to go and try out an iPhone X first then decide. If it doesn't blow me away I'm just going to stick with my 6 for another year.

Same mate.. think I would rather the X than 8.

However, like you I need to see it working.

If I don't like it or think it's worth 1k then I will just stick with my 6 for a year.

Yeah 100% not upgrading to the 8. Even for the 64GB 8, Vodafone want £60 a month and £30 upfront for me to keep the same contract as now - that an added £40 from what I'm paying now.

It makes no financial sense for you to change unless the phone is totally mind blowing cause once you change that contract then I doubt they will allow you got back to the cheaper contract you currently have.

to be honest it's only that as I'm 3 years into having my 6 so for the last year could drop the phone payment part of the contract - not that they tell you that or automatically drop it!

UPdated to OS11 on my 6. Looks nice and actually seems quicker. Seems to have recalibrated my battery read out, I can now see how quickly the flippin thing is draining rather than getting sudden percentage drops of 20-40% or it turning off out of the blue

Just been told at the Apple store my iPhone 6 is worthless to them. Was going to use their trade up deal but because of "screen burn", something which just happens from normal use, their recycling partner wont accept it.

Knew I should've upgraded last year  :no

Will the iPhone X be any cheaper to get on contract say around March time? Or will it just stay the same price as it would still be the latest iPhone out and will only be 4/5 months old anyway. I'm happy to wait around but if the phones tend to stay the same price I may as well bite the bullet and go for it when it comes out as I'm due an upgrade at that time anyway.

All phones depreciate.

So yeah come March it will be cheaper.

Apple won’t drop the price, the networks may chose to take more of a hit on their profit though and subsidise more than at launch.

Can’T see the price of the X dropping too much, if at all, especially as it’s likely supply will remain low into 2018.

It’s also the flagship model now, and think you’ll see companies pushing people onto the cheaper, but still new 8, rather than drop the X pricing.

Got a bit of a dilemma here. Extremely happy with my 6 but cracked the screen today. Currently on PAYG and pay £17 a month.

No applecare so do I wait and upgrade to the X, or do I get the screen replaced? If I replace the screen, does anyone know places that do it well and for a decent price?

I upgraded from a 7 to an 8 plus and love it.
About 4 days in now and used to the size. Great battery life and the camera is awesome.

Happy to wait a year and look at what next year’s X will be.

Most places I know charge between £40-£60 to replace a screen.

Since updating my iphone 6 to iOS 11.0.3 I've stopped getting message notifications on whatsapp and facebook messenger. Anyone else notice the same problem?

Also since that update my battery is draining much faster than it used to.

So Vodafone want around £150 upfront and £68 a month for me to stick on a similar plan to now.

I'm paying under £21 a month now with a 6 that is working perfectly fine. Really in two minds if the X is going to be worth the additional cost.

So about  £1,278. Alot or a little more, depending on the model, versus buying outright, but the convenience of spreading it over time.

That is a bit tricky.

Think buying it upfront is what I’ll probably do.

Can claim VAT back (about £170) and can get about £130 for my 6 on Envirofone, so brings total cost down to £700 ish.

I'm in the same situation.

My thoughts are if the 6 is working fine then stick with that. No longer to people look at phones and go WOW you have the latest phone. No one really cares anymore. For an extra £700 payment the phone has to be mind blowing and I not convinced the 8 or the X are.
