Trying to decide if to bother updating right away to the X or wait a while.
I skipped a due update last year, from a 6 to 7S, as knew this one would be a bit of a bigger form factor change, but if I'm honest my 6 is still working as well today as it was 3 years ago when I got it. Can't fault it one bit.
Yeah, it is more of tricky decision these days, with these more subtle updates - which even the X is really. I have the 6s plus and it works great, does everything I need. What more would the X give me? Often I've upgraded for speed, slowdowns and poor responsiveness drive me potty, but my 6s plus still flies along 99% of the time. A smaller unit housing basically the same screen would be nice, the plus is a bit bulky in the pocket.
The AR stuff on the X is 'next gen' label worthy but is still early days, and I'm not sure the compelling use cases for AR on a smartphone are clear just yet. The possibilities are v exciting though.
Also, if you're concerned about losing the touch ID, I'd say there's a decent chance next year's upgrade will include screen based touch ID. There's no doubt they've been working on that, with the suspicion it's not been included this time because the tech's not there yet. Would be a classic Apple move to bring that in as a new feature next year!
