Is it just me...?

Can't stand having notifications showing on apps.

Have to check emails, acknowledge posdcast downloads, check missed calls etc. As some small OCD part of me finds a little one or two poking up hugely irritating.

Get the O2 app, you can check reception in the area using that.

Otherwise the phone may have an issue.

I'm eyeing up the iPhone 7. I currently have a Sony Z5 Compact. I'm worried that the battery on the iPhone7 will be really shit in comparison. Can anyone give me an idea of the battery performance on the 7? Cheers.

Thanks John!

It won't be a patch on the Z5 Rhi, but it'll last you a day with normal use. Someone that's as busy as you are would do well to look at the 7+. The capacity is a decent amount higher than the 7, although it is big and some people just can't get into the phablets, which is understandable.

Yeah, it's the size that puts me off, Dan. I want my phone in my pocket, and women's jeans have tiny effing pockets  :no. Couple that with phone manufacturers seemingly incapable of producing smaller but high-spec phones, and I have limited choices.

You can't wait for the 8?

Not due until Q3/Q4 is it? No, can't wait that long really. Sony phones don't last in the same way Apple ones do and the Z5 is lagging and has occasional crazy moments by now. My contract is up next month. I'm going sim-only on the contract and buying a sim-free phone so if it's worth upgrading I can look at it in a year's time, I suppose. Also you can bet the iPhone 8 will be huge. Techy men designing phones for men, with no consideration for women.

Give me a fucking phone that fits in my fucking pocket. And make me some fucking jeans that have normal sized fucking pockets >:( ;D

(sorry)

This morning, my iMessages started to disappear from my 7 when I would text someone and I thought it was a glitch but in the evening my phone turned off and since it just won't turn on. It's stuck on the logo screen which appears when turning it on and I have tried rebooting it but after 3 seconds of the screen going blank, it goes back to the logo screen so I don't think it's going into recovery mode or syncing with my iTunes. Anyone know how to solve this?

Have you tried DFU mode?

I did, mate. Ended up taking it to Apple who said there had been a software malfunction while updating and they fixed it within 10mins but had to restore the phone.

Bollocks. It's the one I bought off you. My lad doesn't know what he has done with it. Have lost mode turned on but he hasn't used it in about 3 weeks so battery is well dead. I believe it is in his mums house but she says it definitely isn't.

Have you tried a soft reset?

"Soft Reset
Just press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo. You can let go of both buttons after the Apple logo appears.
Your phone will go through the usual process of starting up.
You'll be back in your home screen."

Not sure if those still work, I haven't had an iPhone for a while. Worth a shot though.

If its on a contract then take it to where you bought it from. They should either replace it or send it away to get fixed free of charge.

Hi Apple fans.

My missus has been offered an iPhone SE as an upgrade from EE on her contract, I've not even heard of that model before.

Can someone please tell me if it's decent?

She currently has an iPhone 5s - we thought she's be offered an iPhone 6 but they're suggesting this one instead.

Is this an inferior model or it simply a smaller one and how do they compare? Would rather hear from people who might have it than read some shitty sponsored review by googling. Ta.

Cheers

I have an SE. No complaints, it's a good phone. Switched when the battery on my 5 gave up. The SE is the same as the 6 I think, but with smaller screen. For me, the smaller screen is a good thing. If you've been happy with the 5/5S you'll be happy with the SE. You'll see the SE as an upgrade. Some new features, a better camera, in my case 64GB instead of 32GB memory etc. Small, but still good improvements.

So what to pick? I'd say the choice between the SE and the 6/6S is about two things. Screen size and weight.

You can get a 1 to 2 port adapter for like £15 or around that so you can listen and charge.
