As usual it takes us 20 chances to get a goal while Brighton get their goal from the only real change they get. So frustrating. We really need to improve our finishing and we are taking a lot of risks at the back too. We need to shore up the defence and midfield and hopefully our strikers put their scoring boots on in the second half.

They are a very good team playing very very good football despite having many players out. We need to be patient on the ball because it's hard to press these.

Their style matches well against us which is why I wanted us to avoid them in the Europa League.

Mo hasn't had his best game which matters a lot because we've been leaning on him. Mac Allister has been outstanding.

That is the worst refereeing performance in a half I have ever seen. The Mac Allister yellow. The delayed decisions, the soft free kicks. This guy is going to lose control of this game.

Final ball just hasn’t been accurate enough on too many occasions and when it has, we’ve not tested the keeper.

They can create better chances because after playing out, the entire field is open to them.

Not worried. Actually quite disappointed with De Zerbi’s tactics to be honest. Playing deep yet trying to play out from the back, quite suicidal, only thing preventing a disaster for Brighton is Salah’s wastefulness.

Honestly if he set us up like that at City I would be quite livid right now.

His assistants and VAR playing blinders as well. From VAR in his ear telling him to book Liverpool players and give Brighton corners to his linesmen nicely letting Brighton play on from offside positions making our players bust a gut to get back and put in challenges until they eventually raise the flag to flagging our players offside immediately even in the tightest of margins.

But, no, they’re just incompetent.

Our set up is a bit mental … Bradley is sooooo high with no cover of any kind
It’s working with the ball as we’re constantly overloading down that side but we’re so open behind him
Need Konate to play this way

We really need to start being clinical with these chances. Salah half the time either has an horrific touch or just lashes a foot at the ball in more hope and desperation than an aimed attempt.

Usual start.. go behind.. come back and dominate..

They look dangerous down their left.. Young Bradley caught out a few times.. Had that happened to TAA, we would have heard about it till next season.. But Bradley has equally been one of our better players breaking forward..

Salah with a mixed bag on the finishing front.. Need him to be more clinical..

Darwin has surprisingly not really been in the game..

Brighton are letting Quansah bring the ball out from the back and shutting down VVD..

Let's hope we show why we have been a second half side this season by picking up the 3 points..

Done well enough. Need Diaz on the ball more. Feel as if with Gomez coming inside there then hasn't been a passing lane for him to receive the ball often enough.

They love a dive..sorry "contact and throw myself to the floor" and he falls for it every time. Wish they could sub refs at half time for being shite. He didn't give Nunez a pen for being held back but literally a minute later game then a free kick for even less contact with the shirt.

Other than that Mo is rushing all his shots which is unusual, Diaz looks isolated and coming inside too much to get the ball leaving us no width with Gomez inverting and Bradley needs some help. Personally I'd bring Kostas on and shift Joe to the right or even take Quansah off and move Joe central but that's just my preference for Diaz needing an overlapper to help him coming through.

Hi paced game, pretty much 1 way traffic.

Brighton have a knack of causing us grief, though have no idea how they are even still in this game with the amount of chances we create. We need to get back to our clinical best in front of goal.

Ref is shite ofc, but anyone watching the barcodes and hammers yesterday will have seen worse!
