Think he's ace, but would like to see more of him driving at defenders and relishing the 1 on 1s, much like Mane. That will come in time I hope.

Is he that type of winger? Not sure he is.

I hope he isn't as it's another problem for the oppo to figure out :) let Mane be the 1 on 1 and Salah be the zippy little fucker who causes chaos in the box

There was a cross from the right in yesterday's game which Mo met at the far post, outjumping some much bigger guys, and my first thought was "Kevin Keegan!"

I'm probably not the first to see that?

His determination to get to the ball was amazing. Divock should learn from him.

On a side note, Roma must be kicking themselves for selling to us for such a small amount. If he was sold after the Neymar transfer, I guess Roma might have a substantial amount more.

That was a great leap. He'll score more headers than you would expect this season.

Weird one this. Doesn't look like he's got into any sort of rhythm himself, still comes across quite timid at times, yet he's got a handful of goals from pre-season and the one on opening day.  He's in dangerous areas, all day long, which is something we need from wide, and he'll score plenty just doing that over the course of the season. Still would like to see a bit more of him though, I'm not completely sold just yet. I realise he's only played a couple of competitive games for us - but I haven't seen a lot else besides him being in the right place at the right time; there's been a few moments (ie: the 1v1) where I've thought he could've/should've done a whole lot better, either with his finishing or a more accomplished touch, or maybe just play the ball a bit quicker.

He should really be able to kick on once he settles in a bit more.

Actually thought he was a bit underwhelming tonight

Battled hard but didn't offer enough in attack for me, his runs are brilliant though and he opens up space for the other attackers well

Thought he lost possession a little too much tonight, but that might be something we just have to live with. Think I'll manage.  ;)

If he can get the same production level and work rate as Dirk Kuyt during his prime then he's paid back his transfer fee with ease. Today's goal was so Dirk, right place, right time, tap in! Same with Watford.

I thought he was great, he hasnt got the technical skill of a Mane so dont expect him to be skinning players non stop, he relies on his movement and pace. He's gonna be lethal for us this season.

So competent in every area of the game, and incredible with his movement and anticipation. I fucking love seeing him get between the goalposts and take the first few steps towards the keeper whenever somebody else is winding up to shoot. It's just a basic skill but too many of our wide players, midfielders, and even forwards - divock, have lacked that over the last few years

He's got really good positional awareness and extremely fast but I don't think he's quite on the same level in terms of skill as our other attackers (Mane, Coutinho, Firmino). He's just a little sloppy with his finishing, passing and first touch but it's such an asset having another guy with his pace that always seems to be in the right spot.

He's a better player/finisher than Sterling. He's got a left foot for a start. Fucking comparisons to other players makes me howl. What fucking good does that do? No offence, you're not the only one. Sterling will play off the bench this season. Salah is a starter for ten. Compare that....

Same, has reminded me a bit of Sterling with his finishing.

To be fair to him, he's scored 2 goals in 3 starts.

I do get the feeling from him that he's very much like a wide striker though. More about finishing moves than about creating or beating a player. His pace and movement gets him on the end of moves, and gets him a tonne of shots on goal. He's averaging an insane 4.7 shots per game right now.. admittedly 115 league minutes in. But those are crazy numbers for a no.9, let alone a winger.

He's much more gifted than he's showing since his move. I think he's just playing it safe with his passing and just tries to keep it simple.

When he feels more settled I think people will start to see exactly what he is capable of technically.

I think he's yet to find his form. He lost the ball quite often getting caught in possession and hasn't quite been as skilful as I thought he'd be. Someone said it but he reminds me of Dirk Kuyt with pace but lacking the finishing instinct. Will still get plenty of those Kuyt-like right time, right place tap ins this season though.

Looks good when facing defenders or the goal but doesn't seem to know what to do whenever he's got his back to play or trying to hold the ball up.

Gonna score a lot of goals for us.

Strange shout that considering he is left footed, of course he has a left foot.

Anyway, Salah will prove to be a great signing. He'll miss chances but he is such an intelligent footballer that he'll keep getting into the position. Will be great seeing him running onto Coutinho's through balls this season.

He may not be as eye catching or even as good as Mane but apart from his pace and scoring (that he has bettered so much the last couple of years), think his biggest attribute for this team is his runs behind the defenses and the options he gives to our midfielders and Firmino by doing that.
We needed that cause we have some few players, albeit very talented that thrive more with the ball on their feet rather than without it.
Messi in fact doesn't have a recognizable trait.
