He was bought to become the engine behind most of our attacking play. Nothing he has done so far has changed my view that he will do exactly that and more. The initial tentativeness is almost off the pitch and you can see how he is exactly what we needed.
Was instrumental in our transitions with quick one touch passing during the first half against Chelsea and completely snuffed out some tricky situations in the second. With Henderson covering, his movement dragged Kante away almost all of 60 odd minutes. Same was the case at Spurs and now Chelsea. As a result, you get the spaces available in the midfield where Hendo, Lallana, Coutinho, Bobby and Gini himself can take up goalscoring positions.
His goals, those typical late runs in the box we saw at PSV from the CM, they'll come. He's had some decent pops already and once the first goes in, you will see the dynamic metronome that is Gini Wijnaldum who was the captain at such an early age and dominated Dutch midfields.
Just as a side rant, for our supposed fabled 'pass and move, the Liverpool groove' fans, they sure do take a lot of time 'noticing' the value of Gini.
