Owen Moran From Cook Da Books RIP
« on: February 13, 2022, 04:57:41 pm »
Just saw Owen Moran the lead singer from Cook Da Books has died, everyone in Liverpool in the 80's must of seen them they played everywhere, pubs clubs community centres, one of those bands who should have made it but fait conspired. Saw Owen about a year ago in the Foyer to Fazakerley Hospital, he was a Fazakerley lad first knew about him through mates in his class when he used to sing in school in Bonnies, real talent and nice fella. Cook the books did mostly their own songs but  I loved this cover. RIP Owen sympathy to your wife and kids and many freinds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBF0IGS_2Xs

Very sad news.
Didn't know him that well, but I know Digsy very well, his former band member of Cook Da Books.
He was a brilliant singer and an excellent writer of songs too.

R.I.P Owen

Yep. Sad news.

I posted a couple of days ago in the 'dead musicians tribute' thread, and the 'what are you listening to now' thread about his death.

RIP Owen.

I think they use to rehearse in my uncles garage on Prinny Drive.

RIP Owen.
