We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

Made going to the match proper enjoyable again, after the dross of 98-2000.

Got to lift the FA Cup because of his Treble Team, Thanks Ged.

What a fella. Heartbroken by this, in all honesty. Laid the foundations for Rafa, and that team which he brought Gerrard, Carra and Owen into will live long in the memory.

Hope the select few inside Anfield on Wednesday give him a good send-off of "Allez Allez, Gerard Houllier".

Rest In Peace Ged

The man took us back to the top table and did it with great warmth, will be missed massively. Don’t mind admitting I had a little cry when this one came through.

That week from beating Arsenal in Cardiff to Alaves 4 days later in Dortmund and then finishing it off at Charlton on the Sunday is pretty much impossible to top as a week, isn't it?
We've had great days, and of course great seasons since, but those 3 games in 8 days were just magical. A friend of mine went to Dortmund. I met up with him on the Friday night, and we was still quite shook. He thought that there was no chance of winning at Charlton if his body was a yardstick to go by  ;D

The only time I've managed to watch a live match at Anfield was his last match in charge against Newcastle in 2004, which got us into the Champions League.

Very sad he has died so young.

He helped rebuild this club and gave us back our pride, he was a true Red and by all accounts a wonderful man. Deepest condolences to his loved ones, he'll be forever remembered and honoured.

Rest in peace, Mr Houllier and thank you for the memories. YNWA
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Gutting news. Gave me the club I grew up with, back.

One of our greatest ever managers and those 12 months in 2001 will go down as one of the clubs greatest periods of football, this club of mine has ever seen. Throw in a Gary Mac free-kick and that moment he walked out against Roma, and these are the memories that sit right up there, with all the European Cups and League titles.

Thank you for everything Ged.

RIP YNWA
