What a fucking cesspit that thread is.

My blood pressure didn't let me skim through more than a dozen replies. Sad knobheads all believing the utter lies and bullshit
I can't read it because I'm not on Twitter, but I've seen some of his YouTube rants and the comments there are a cesspit too. Comments challenging the propaganda get deleted too. It's an echo chamber full of uneducated bells.

Robinson has lost it.

He’s now defending the c*nt who was arrested for misidentifying the Southport murderer and causing the mayhem.

If he says something enough, does he start to believe it?

Never been on Twitter or X as it’s now called, but apparently huge numbers of ‘sane/semi sane’ folk have fecked it off and moved to ‘threads’ or something (I’m not on that either).

Look at the prison sentences for climate protestors - some getting 5 years for climbing up a motorway gantry.

As an aside, this also blows apart the whiney claim from the far-right about 'two-tier policing' where lefties are allowed to get away with stuff.

I was trying not to derail the thread. But the sentences for the climate protesters are just a disgrace imo. Six months for "walking slowly on the road"? One month for standing on a grass verge with a sign "no new oil"? WTF?

Less time on phones for sure. I bought a sketch pad some canvasses and water colours last week for that reason.

It helps with the mind stuff ( chitta in Buddhism ) . I haven't started the painting yet . When I sketch I don't draw objects . I draw a curvey thing and shade it with a lead pencil. Picasso had to start somewhere I guess.   ;D

I love reading but barely picked one up anymore as I supposedly did not have time. Over the last few months I have started to sit down for at least 45 mins each day with a book. Helps that my 5 year old daughter loves going to the library and I want her to have a love of books as I did when I was a kid.

Over the last couple of weeks it has been a lot longer but feel so much better for it.

This is one of the best places to avoid all that shite. Yeah, most of us are 'left leaning' (whatever in reality that is supposed to mean) but we are tolerant of different points of view and happy to engage in a civil debate.

Twitter is the wild west and owned by a megalomaniac with no filter.

Try abstract mate. It's what I do in my spare time and it's a great release from the stress of life and a nice break from what I do as a profession.

We should probably have a thread on RAWK for people putting pics of their Art up. Might encourage others to try.

The first social media shit stirrers are facing their day in Court;

“ Jail sentences expected for online activity linked to unrest
published at 09:38
09:38
Two men are set to be the first to face jail for stirring up racial hatred during the violent unrest that took place in the UK over the last week.
Tyler Kay, from Northampton, called for hotels housing asylum seekers to be set alight in a post shared on X on 7 August.
The 26-year-old has pleaded guilty to publishing material intending to stir up racial hatred and will be sentenced today at Northampton Crown Court.
Jordan Parlour, from Seacroft in Leeds, made online comments advocating an attack on a hotel in Leeds.
The 28-year-old has been convicted of using threatening words or behaviour to stir up racial hatred and will appear at Leeds Crown Court today.
A handful of people have been charged so far for their posts on social media in relation to the violent unrest.
Police are continuing to arrest people in relation to the unrest, with Cheshire Police arresting a woman yesterday who is accused of stirring up racial hatred on social media.”

Good for you, I love it when children get into books, such a. crucial way of learning from an early age. I know what you mean about struggling to find the time to read. I tend to listen to audible rather than read myself now. I need to put that right in the winter.

Best way of getting to sleep as well Jill. I read for about 1 hour before bed, every night without fail. Have done it for years. Once in the routine you will probably never stop.

I love reading but I've had to stop as it's far too compulsive for me.

I can't do the 'read for an hour' or 'a couple of chapters' before sleeping as my mind is racing so much I can't sleep.

I started trying to read during the day instead but then I can't put the book down until I've finished it.

People often say "that's not a doodle!" and I have to tell them, "yes, yes it is", as it is typically mindless. Absent-of-mind, if you will.

So this woman near chester who shared that false news about the identity of the attacker saying "if this is true". Other than the 'sharing' element of that, how is that different from Frottage and his interview/video that was within hours and there is data analysis that demonstrated a very quick spike of the trending and sharing of that information ?

Surely it is essentially the same thing i.e. one was written and was spoken - and if anything the spoken version with a much wider reach has more impact ?

That's great. It had never occurred to me that just my doodling could count as art and I suppose it is about de-stressing.  Genuinely will give it a go with my 'triangles' and let my mind wander. God knows what will come out of my mind like.

I hear so many people laugh at any artistic talent they have, so often. The thing is I think everyone has some sort of artistic tilt, but art like all subjects is different things to different people. Some people maybe feel they can't paint but can make items from woodwork instead; it's still art just a different form. So, don't think your doodling doesn't count it all does.

I agree with Amir we need an art thread where people can post what they do and hopefully persuade others to give it a go.  :D

I've done geometric doodles in the past, but typically my work... defies description, shall we say? ;D

RB, I think that's fine. Follow the doodle and see where it leads everyone has a different imagination and uses it in a different way. I hate it if you have lessons and they go on about the rules, more than anything in art you follow where your heart leads; bugger the rules.  :D

This is one of the best places to avoid all that shite. Yeah, most of us are 'left leaning' (whatever in reality that is supposed to mean) but we are tolerant of different points of view and happy to engage in a civil debate.

Unless you point out Nunez is crap.
