After all the picks are made, would love to dig out that thread to see how all the players are doing.

I was thinking it might be interesting to revote on that one and see who wins, and see how perceptions have changed over time.

Might be interesting if we were to get enough votes and stuff anyway haha.

I'll make my pick now sorry, been out so haven't had a chance

Who's next? Sorry I was late
I´ll say something that might surprise you. Real life is different to computer games.
I think Nadal is brilliant. One of the top 10 ever.

Sorry for the delay. I had a bit of an emergency to deal with tonight. All okay now though.

Went for Caldara. He's been brilliant for Atalanta this season. I don't think as many people watch Serie A as back in the days of Football Italia on channel 4! But Italian football, like the French game, is really on the up again. Could well see both nations battling for the World Cup come 2022!

Surprised he's lasted so long.

He would've been great alongside Romagnoli! The future of Italy maybe? Rugani is another one. How do Italy just keep producing these CBs! Every era has at least 2-3 incredible central defenders - Burgnich, Gentile, Scirea, Bergomi, Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta, Vierchowood, Nesta, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Bonucci. Let's hope these three live up to their promise.

I was actually amazed Sanson lasted as late as he did - he's topping the Ligue 1 assist charts this year - but there are still some biggish names left, especially up front. Just seems like defence is lean, though that's probably because defenders in general tend to emerge later.

Cheers mate  :)  I wondered if it might be him! I found it very difficult to choose between Davinson and Caldara last round, so I'm made up I got them both. Still some excellent young CBs available IMO. One in particular who should go very soon as well.

There's a great new generation of players coming through at Ajax right now, which is great to see after a long spell of them producing very little and signing some utterly average players. Focusing on youth again has really paid off with Davinson, De Ligt, Kluivert, Dolberg (plus a few other unpicked names) really leading the way. Fingers crossed this team is the one to stop United in the Europa League!

Yeah Davinson’s a great pick. Thought long and hard about picking him instead of Kimpembe or Vallejo. Quite a few top CB talents around at the moment, not much between them.

Ricardo Pereira is an incredible pick at this stage as well. Would’ve been my next choice at RB after Semedo. Best RB in Ligue 1 this season, and there’s some serious competition there!

Yeah thanks mate, looking at the squads there were still heaps of teams without a RB, so knew I had to nab him now. After Pereira there is a pretty big drop off.

After Pereira there is a pretty big drop off.

In terms of making an impact in a big league now - then maybe.

But looks like most people are selecting players who have great potential for the future, hence lots of players from the weaker Dutch league being selecting.  So I wouldn't say there is a drop off in that regard with some other RBs remaining.

Gelson - Origi - Rashford

Yeah I've got two from the German league & one from the French.

I watch more of the PL though, so I know more about them than other leagues.

I'm not sure about Lemos to be honest. Seems like he's massively fallen from grace since all the hype one year ago. Currently being linked to Everton too! Poor fucker  :D

Guess I’m just a sucker for CBs who can curl one into top bins from 30 yards out! 5 league goals in 20 games is a great return. I’m going 3 at the back here so he would’ve suited my team nicely.

But yeah, Las Palmas have had a bit of a stinker this year so naturally the Lemos hype has also died down a bit. Might actually end up working in his favour if it leads to a big move this summer though. Wouldn’t pay too much attention to who he’s being linked with, it’s usually just agent guff. Everton trying to link themselves to good players now they’re billionaires ;D

Does Ben Foster still qualify?
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Because I can't call EVERY player picked fantastic. Because they aren't. I'd also probably start catching up on Nick's post count if I did  :D  Milinkovic-Savic is a player I really rate though, so I picked him out. Simple. I'm sure you have favourites who you consider fantastic and other you don't. Don't take my comments so personally. Just a few posts later I was down on Lemos and the other day I wasn't so complimentary on Barbosa. I like who I like, regardless of nationality.
