Yikes.
We are second-best just about everywhere across the park. Actually, it's hard to tell re: Glatzel and Duncan because they haven't gotten the ball.
I think the main problem is that our midfield looks absolutely exhausted. None of them can run, they're just walking whenever it's not absolutely necessary to run and it makes City look amazing by comparison.
We keep getting into this situation where our fullback has the ball, and he looks to break forward or pass it inside somewhere. Only there's no pass to be made, a City player is in between him and the centre back and he's being closed down by two players. Here's where you need a Wijnaldum making run after run in the centre just to find the space between the defenders to offer an outlet. Instead the fullbacks are having to blast the ball blind down the wing and we lose the ball. Must have happened a dozen times that half.
Larouci is coming out of this with some credit. Apart from that, nothing. Our only chances have been when their keeper gave us the ball in the box and then off a massive deflection.
But like I said, a possible excuse is that we look very, very tired. I just feel sorry for our midfielders at this point, Sharif and Dixon-Bonner look like they're playing against the first-team or something, they're just not remotely at the level tonight of the City lads.
