Guitar George and Harry mentioned by Mark Knopfler in Sultans of Swing are actually George Young and Harry Vanda of Easybeats and AC/DC fame.

In Smoke on The Water, the line some stupid with a flare gun refers to the member of the audience for the Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention gig in the Montreux Casino who actually fired a flare gun at the ceiling causing the fire that burned it down.

"Funky and Claude was running in and out/Pulling kids out of the ground,”
Claude was Claude Nobs who promoted Deep Purple to play a gig at Casino and were making the album Machine Head in Switzerland at that time.

Isn't "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" about a deranged stalker that actually broke into McCartney's house?

Yes. Diane Ashley decided to climb a ladder that led to a bathroom window that was slightly open, as she says "they were bored."
"Paul was out at the time, he was out and so we decided to pay him a visit."

When Alice Cooper & his band wrote 'Schools Out' they came up with music & lyrics very quickly, but one line stumped them. The verse went;

Well we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
........

They couldn't think of anything for the fourth line to finish it off so their producer Bob Ezrin wrote it down on his pad as a note which said 'can't think of a word that rhymes - need to come back to it later'

They never did, they just left it in as 'we can't even think of a word that rhymes'.

Yanks thought "Roll up for the Mystery Tour" was about joints.

Soft lot never knew Helter Skelter was a kiddie ride.

They also thought that John and Paul were singing "I Get High" in "I Want To Hold Your Hand" when it was "I Can't Hide." Bob Dylan was particularly impressed.
