It's also depends on whether we decide to go big on 1 or 2 players as against spreading it out more.
You'd expect we'll make a fair whack in sales as well and you're saving on Thiago and Matip's large salaries. If Salah goes as well then it's a huge amount saved in wages, even if you put a lot of that for new deals for Trent and Virg.
With the players coming through we're in a better place with the HG rule.

« Last post by redbyrdz on Today at 07:58:59 pm »No Areola made the mistake not Taylor. Areola had a brain fart and thought he had been awarded a free kick. Taylor did not blow his whistle to cover up a mistake he had made. He saw Gakpo bearing down on goal and then blew his whistle.
I think Taylor turned around a saw what looked like the keeper taking a freekick, and Gakpo approaching. He blew his whistle, and after that realised he hadn't actually given a freekick and had now fucked up. Thats when he remembered the keeper had hurt his foot when he caught the ball, so he decided he'd cover up his fuckup by pretending the keeper needed medical attention.
To be honest, I don't think it has anything to do with Liverpool, I think he's just a shite ref who is way too much up his own arse, so he'd never even consider admitting his own mistakes.

« Last post by meady1981 on Today at 07:58:27 pm »Not trying to be some smart arse but I knew after the Brighton game and then United. We were hanging on and clawing games back and looked spent. The other two were scoring for fun. I wasn’t even surprised or annoyed by Palace. The writing was on the wall once they both overtook us and it was pretty obvious we weren’t going to win all of our games even then.

I’d never noticed before just how Day’s technique has major flaws; Murphy pointed out a ‘quirk’ where his thumb isn’t still on the potting stroke. He also has some involuntary head movement on pressure shots.

To me it feels like Klopp has lost the energy because competing with City with our resources is extremely difficult. Similar to what happened at Dortmund, and that losing him might make the difference more apparent. And the players he left behind at Dortmund never reached the same heights. Rather than the squad being stale, it’s that he’s wrung everything he could from them and a new manager might not be able to draw as much from the same players.
Hopefully Slot is great but I’ve not felt this level of apathy for a new season before but it’s hard to get excited when you’re losing one of the best fitting managers we’ve ever had.
Imagine how we young lads felt 50 years ago when the great Bill Shankly, right out of the blue, called it a day. Heartbroken & traumatised is the only way I could describe it. Turned out OK in the end though didn't it ? Keep the faith. We've got a great squad so our new manager is half way there already. If he's as tactically switched on as many people are saying, then we could be in for more fun times.
