This is what I get for taking out the tournament favourite.
I was pleasantly surprised at the scoreline! Expected this to be much tighter.
Went with Nick in game 2. Found DS' set up really interesting and it's definitely nice to see other formations explored (maybe some kind of formation restrictive draft could be fun in future?). But the midfield is where this one was won and lost for me. Although there's the potential for Zizou to run rampant against Dino Baggio, who is a bit below the level of some of the players out here. Zidane excelled when playing with ball winners and 'water carriers' - Makelele, Vieira, Petit, Deschamps, Davids. You could argue that once Modric-Iniesta-Zidane have the ball you'd never get it off them, but how do they win it in the first place? Especially with Matthaus in there. I do think Nick's attack would struggle to score against that defence, but I'd also say the same for DS' attack. So that's why it's the midfield battle that swayed me here. This would be a 1-0 win on a knife's edge.
