I bumped into Aki when I was getting off the bus at Queen Square once. I was a bit disappointed he didn't seem to think my muscles were worthy of a feel.  :-\

Oh no, I know Thatcher was a horrid excuse for a human, my comment was more aimed at the fact Geoffrey Howe urged her to let Liverpool go to, as he called it, managed decline.

What a shithouse!

Most of them were. I think much of what Heseltine did and said was appalling (helicopters anyone) - but by actually coming to the city, meeting people and listening he did actually do some good. Ever since then he has always spoken very highly of liverpool

A coach has overturned on a motorway in Merseyside.

The crash happened on the M53 in Wirral shortly after 08:00 BST, National Highways said.

Emergency services including an air ambulance have been sent to the scene between junction 4 at Bebington and junction 5 in Hooton.

The road has been closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area and take alternative routes. Diversions have been put in place.

Allegedly this is a coach full of school kids. Hopefully they're all OK  :(

As well as Calday Grammar pupils there is also 'West Kirby Grammar School for Girls' pupils on board. Latest news suggests 50 casualties and one female rushed to hospital with "major trauma related injuries."

Terrible news. As little was being reported in terms of casualties for a long time (just a report of one female being taken to hospital with serious injuries), I was hoping the casualties wouldn't be too severe. Sadly, the opposite has turned out to be true. HEartbreaking.

No info on how this happened.

Fingers crossed for the two people taken to Alder Hey, sounds like they have serious injuries. RIP to the driver and the 14 year old girl, so tragic apparently they were on separate coaches so those on the following coach would have witnessed the crash. Well done to all the emergency services for the way they dealt with the tragedy and condolences to the two families who have lost loved ones.  :(

Absolutely that would be a good first step. Next step would be a joint-ticketing system shared across the buses and trains, hopefully with some reasonable price caps.
