I'm not happy about having to get itvn just to watch LFC matches either...especially considering the performance during the last few matches.

After a great first experience watching the Spurs match, I was completely unable to watch the Bolton match due to constant buffering.  This past weekend, I was able to watch most of the Blackburn match (on the lowest setting), but then it froze with about 3 minutes to go and I could not get it back up and running.

I spoke to Tech support, and apparently they are having problems with some of their east coast customers - something about their CDN provider and cross-country latency...and of course my 30-day trial is up.  They say that a fix will be in place "within 60-90 days".

I'm still seriously pissed off at FSC, but at least there's a way to (sort of) watch the games (sometimes)... :butt

Just got home and turned on Setanta..

From the sound of it the Bordeaux v Liverpool match is going to be shown live on Setanta sport.

So if you have that option you don't have to wait for the replay on ESPN Classic.

Martin Fisher and the ex-Manc Lou Macari to do the commentary.. ::)

Re: today's match vs Bordeaux - shown in full on ESPN Classic at 2pm (San Francisco time).  Almost any decent bar worth its salt will carry the channel.

No help re Sunday though - you'll definitely need to find a bar with Setanta for that.

Sorry, 4pool - just saw you mentioned the replay...   Setanta will also be carrying the home leg live as well on the 31st.

Depends on where you are.

Best bet is the Mad Dog in the Fog on Haight about 3 blocks up Market along Church.
The Chieftan at Mission and 5th should show it as well.

edit:  Nope, the Chieftan won't have it.  The Abbey Tavern on Geary will instead, but that's a bit far from Market.
Just confirmed the Mad Dog will have the match live at 5am with a replay at 2pm.

Pete, I may finally get to a game at The Landing.  This season has been absolutely crap in trying to get to watch the Reds now that FSC is not showing them and then trying to juggle weekend stuff with the wife and kid.  ::)

The Landing should be packed for this one.

Are Canadian Reds screwed over for this season because we can't get Setanta here? Or is it available in some provinces already? I haven't been able to watch Liverpool for close to a month now even though we have the best cable package there is.

Maybe this would work:

http://www.itvn.com/index_setanta.html?s=3&p=4&w=101041&t=0&c=497

I think that's what some are trying out to a decent degree of success. Not sure about Canada though.

I don't think it's Setanta's fault, more likely FSC showing it on a slight delay.

Saturday, Nov. 25, 10am; Liverpool v Man City (Setanta).  That will be on in phoenix landing.

Champions league schedules are not out yet.  Only out 2 weeks in advance.  So far setanta has shown every Liverpool CL game, so my bet is on setanta still showing it.  Which will also be available in the phoenix.

Reactivating this thread...

Anyone heard anything yet about whether there's an FA Cup PPV *package* this season?  Both Dish and DirecTV have the Arsenal game up as a one-off $15.95 game but not seeing anything about the (formerly $99) package.   I've always purchased the package, even if/when we didn't go far in the tournament - I'm a little sad if it's not being offered as I like watching all the ties regardless.  The package would also obviously be a lot cheaper than $16 per game.

Just wondering.  Will buy the one-offs as needed but am still hoping a package is on offer.  Perhaps that's the tradeoff this season for not having to stump up the $300 for league matches as the Setanta subscription works out to less $$.

Connie..

I've been checking Directv's website and nothing yet on the season package for the FA Cup. Was going to wait until Friday to see if there were any last minute updates.

I was wondering that myself. And calling them takes time as their customer service folks aren't exactly up to speed on "football"..:P

Anyone with Setanta Sports - the CL Final is on right now until 8pm Eastern.  Stevie just scored....make that Vladi!  Hurry before Xabi gets in there!  Sadly, it's ESPN's coverage.

Looking like no package at all, 4pool.  Neither Dish nor DirecTV are advertising one and the info has gone up before now in the past.  Unless they start it with the 4th round matches (which would bite).  I went ahead and ordered.

Folks - don't know if anyone else is at his/her computer as you're probably making your way to your respective pubs *but*:

Setanta has (and has had for ages) our game against Wigan listed on its website for broadcast live at 10am (ET) on the Xtra channel (670)...

DirecTV however has the West Ham/Everton (!!) game listed on ch. 670...    (scroll down the guide if you need)

???    :no

Just a heads-up that we may be in for an ugly surprise in 2-1/2 hours!!   If they switched games at the last minute, there will be hell to pay.  I personally will have to explain to 50-60 people what the hell happened, even though I of course will have no details as to why.

I haven't had a good rant at Setanta for several years now so I'm good and ready if they want to rumble...
