Before we beat them 5-2 this season they had a police escort, we were outside the King Harry and watched hundreds, not a few, HUNDREDS of them chant murderers at us.

We also had bottles and at least one padlock thrown at us.

They have brought it on themselves and they can deny it all they want, it weren't a minority.

Yes we filmed them being escorted up anfield rd , all the classics getting an airing. Murderers, wall push motions, that hand over the face one they love . No wonder PC Plod wanted to contain them before and after this game.

Ended up driving during 1st half yesterday. I usually avoid the radio, but after their Barcelona commentary decided to give 5 Live a go. Commentary was good, and a reminder of how proper unbiased, no agenda commentary should be.

But what I wanted to say was that the crowd sounded magnificent. All the songs came through loud and clear, even Mrs Adam was impressed. Only time I heard any Mancs was just after  Fergie's right and of course I heard the word murderers. So predictable, well done. Perhaps a little more awareness of their own history wouldn't go amiss.

But well done Anfield, sounded fantastic. Sky deffo turn volume down.

I didn't go yesterday but lads who I know who went said it was good atmosphere in the main. Massive let off when Salah scored.

I thought it sounded loud on the TV and from my experience that normally equates to very loud in the ground. Been to matches were the atmosphere was brilliant and it only sounded OK when I watched back on the TV. Not sure if that's due where you are in the stand or how the audio is picked up by TV crews. Defo feels like a thing at Anfield. Might be the same at other grounds too.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

The Mancs acting like the vile fuckers they are, yes. Not sure what the message over the PA system to them was - but their response of "We're Man United, we'll do what we want" just about sums them up.

Was good seeing the pain in their eyes after both goals. And the fact they had to stay and witness it all as well, fantastic.

Reading so many people on twitter talking about our atmosphere being a myth (I realise they’re only jealous their team can’t win 30/31 games in a row) even though they are listening to it through a speaker makes me laugh. I was in 306 yesterday and we sang constantly for the first 25 minutes- difficult to start chants because we only had a 3 second window between chants. The atmosphere was so hostile that my ears were ringing- felt the need to cover my ears at times due to how the noise (loud whistling) was causing me pain. It was then flat at the end of the first half and at times during the second half. Never experienced a moment like when Mo scored. All I remember is trying to hold onto my seat to prevent myself from falling forward like everyone else was. Then feeling everyone simultaneously starting to believe that we are going to win the league is something I’ll never forget. And the Mancs had to stay and watch it all- torture. Also, had the honour of starting poor scouser tommy first half and then We shall not be moved at the end- when you are used to the Upper main stand or Lower Annie Road where you’ll typically be singing with 3 or 4 people around you, then this was special. The atmosphere around Anfield certainly could be better, but the Kop is like no other stand in England. That’s why the Anfield atmosphere is definitely not a myth (although maybe for 12:30 kick offs).

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself. Great stuff.  :D

I think a lot of fanbases lack awareness of their own standing in the game. You get no-mark clubs turning up an Anfield expecting us to put on a show for them like we are playing a big club, in a very high stakes game. Facts are, much of the time the level of atmosphere reflects the level of opposition and the stakes riding on the particular game.

When it's needed, the support is there. Personally, when I could go regularly, I wanted to sing all the time, but many don't see it the same way. We are there for our own team, not to be performing seals for the fans of Micky Mouse clubs who do nothing themselves other than drone on through the lower league repertoire of generic, outdated shite.

When we go to away games we don't give a fuck how loud the home fans are and certainly don't spend the game singing about it. Why do they even care?

Decent in the kop yesterday. I know we’ve had a few poor ones around Christmas but I think the atmosphere has picked up over the last few seasons, love it how we never sit in the kop anymore, much better

The atmopshere has been really good under Klopp in general and coinciding with the new stand which helped as well. A standing Kop is vital too. Hopefully a new ARE will enhance it more with general admisison.

People going on about us singing we’re going to win the league.
Sang it loads in 13/14. Sang it last year. Sang it this year.
This year people have held themselves back on it.
It was perfect timing for 2 fingers up to Manchester.
To be seen whether it gets going for our next game.
I think if it was Villa for example it would not have happened. Just united. Great timing.
Needs context that one for those I hear going on about it in work and media etc.

It's absolutely hilarious the way people are going on about this.

That song has been sung by fans of clubs challenging for the title for decades and decades, and not only on the day they potentially clinch it.

You'd think these people had never been to football games in their lives because they seem to have no idea about fan culture at all.

I sang it in the mid 90's
I sang it in 2009
I sang it in 2014

Wasn't there on Sunday but i'm going to Wolves and West Ham and I won't be singing it this time.

I quite like that we've been on the same page as Klopp and the players this time, it another part of why it feels different

Each to their own but I hope Sunday was a one off.

Yep, clubs whose fans felt they were in with a good shout at the league would sing it throughout the season. It was no big deal then, and no big deal now. Fans of all the top clubs would sing it. The hysterics from some over it getting sung yesterday is mind boggling. You'd think these people only discovered football a week or two ago.

The Mancs acting like the vile fuckers they are, yes. Not sure what the message over the PA system to them was - but their response of "We're Man United, we'll do what we want" just about sums them up.

It was only to tell them they were being kept in and to remain where they were. Dickheads.

Wish I could have been in the Kop on Sunday, after reading some of these stories of the goal celebration. Instead of sat above that lot constantly going through their Heysel/Hillsborough repertoire. They really deserve a wait as long as we’ve had for their next title and then some!

Having said all that, a very decent atmosphere in the Upper Annie for once, and a great day all round!

Think you're being a bit unfair here. Fact is that the song soundtracked the final weeks of the 08/09 and 13/14 seasons with it being sung en masse. Last year it may have been sung by pockets but it never took off at all either home or away. It's not been sung like that by the whole of Anfield since 2014 which is all anyone who's not called Gary Neville is saying. There's definitely symbolism about it being sung yesterday. Seems like you're just being a misery for the sake of it ;D

Agree also that it being against United was key. But even that made it a bit special. Back on our perch etc.

I agree it was a let off after beating a team we love to get one over.  It was amazing but I didn't personal sing it.

Felt like a game where most had sold on their tickets to other people.  At least around me there were a lot of regulars not there.

I know this was the 1st game where members that hadn't registered their ID with the club lost their ticket (which then went to a resale) so maybe that happened

Some horrible people online posted videos of a bunch of fans with sponsor tickets which annoyed me. They have every right to be at the ground.

Overall the atmosphere was good. Drowned out the vile chants by them lot and finally aired 'the' chant (Even though I still wont sing it. Not yet)

Glad someone's said it. We used to sing it opening day of the season in the 90s and we were shite for most of that decade!

You've sort of lost me. How am I being a misery?

The fans of clubs have been singing it throughout the season for decades and decades. We used to sing it all the time. It tailed off at Anfield due to so many false dawns leaving egg on our face. People became more cautious as a result.

I have no issue with us singing it at all. It's a standard song for any club going for the title. My comments were aimed at the hysterics from opposition fans who are suggesting us singing it is "arrogant" and one reason why "everyone hates us."

To me, it's them who are the miseries and the rewriters of fan culture history.

I saw the same pictures. Call it out for what it is.

I thought the atmosphere was good in spells, but very nervy in others. Some around me were very much in the mindset that "it's inevitable that they'll score". Playing the name rather than the team in front of them, as we've done at Old Trafford for a few years now. Kinda puzzled me, albeit I do get it. Years of conditioning takes its toll. The let off at the end was boss though. One of the moments of the season, that. I think we'll all look back on that with real fondness.

Just on their lot and some of the vile chants doing the usual rounds, I was really disappointed to have a couple around me who clocked it and immediately responded with "Munich" shouts. One added "say it loud and say it proud". Fuck off mate. The other whispered in his ear that he "agreed, but not saying it here". These weren't kids, these were fellas in their 50's who should absolutely fucking know better. The irony of their equally vile reaction to a vile chant was entirely lost on them as well.

We need to treasure our anthem and stay true to the original(slower)version....don't let it get diluted.

It’s regularly cut from the tannoy at big matches

I think George does a great job in reading the situation and allowing it to be more natural when there’s clearly a big atmosphere brewing

I thought that was the case. I just think that when we are left to our own devices it speeds up and is not a great rendition(call it the poor scouser tommy syndrome if you will).
I just think we have a fantastic anthem and we should treasure and protect it...in "the old days" we used to sing the Gerry Marsden version at the right speed even in the pub....to my ear there is a huge difference to the way it is sung sometimes(speeded up).
Best to keep to the original version and speed and protect our treasured anthem from any dilution.

We always used to sing "we're going to win the league " from the first week of the season. We also used to chant a one line war-cry,  " we're gonna win the Football League again" .
But by far the most original, powerful  and the most haunting was "we're going win the League..." to the tune of Edith Piaf's classic 'Milord'. We started singing it in about 1969 1970 I reckon ando for a good part of the 70s.

Once again our supporters were ahead of the rest.  Not just with their trainees and fashion sense a few years later. We were singing a classic French song with our own words FFS!

I've said it a few times on here that I'd love it to be belted out from the Kop,  but as others have rightly pointed out,  RAWK haven't had one of our  songs sung so I don't suppose that we'll get a re-run of this old classic. OUR old classic,  because no other supporters ever sang this. Just saying like!!

It was only to tell them they were being kept in and to remain where they were.

They only stayed behind for half an hour because they wanted to  ;D

Sounds like he got one on the stream I was watching.

Made me laugh every time the Southampton fans started up with 'your support is fucking shit' or the like, they were drowned out by our fans. Just sing about your own team ffs.

I just roll my eyes when I hear the drones coming out with that.  ::)

From what I heard, the atmosphere sounded pretty good today.

Thought the atmosphere was poor today myself, some songs sung but non with real passion, every game should be bouncing watching this team,

Some strange characters in 306 today, including a lad a row or two behind us calling Keita ‘Origi’ every time he had the ball, and a fella about 50 with Champions 20 on his replica shirt ( at least wait til next season ? )

Are we getting too complacent now too. ??

Noticed loads of the main stand getting off on 87 mins too, tons of empty seats 🙁

6/10.   Plenty of singing from where I was on The Kop but agree plenty doing one early.   And why were there at least 200 empty seats in the middle tier of the Main Stand?  Thought hospitality would have well and truly sold out.

Was decent around me in 206. First time this season that those around me on the kop actually sang. Man behind me did some amount of moaning though. Scarves getting few and far between in anfield now, the kenny had hardly any during YNWA today. Shite that the place looks class when all flags, scarves and banners are out.
