Boss corner for Virg's goal. Right on the money.

For all the stick he gets at times, he's been pivotal in finals.

If it not one of the 5 in the leadership group it goes to who been at the club(or First team) the longest normally. Which would be Gomez then Kelleher depending on who plays in the game.

He’s such a big player when he comes on. He offers width and helps massively when we struggle to break teams down. IMO should be our starting LB.

I dunno who should be our starting LB but I thought Tsimikas was better than Robbo had been in the period he had in the team post Robbo’s injury and pre his.

Might've played his last game for us there. He was hardly the only one at fault, and maybe it was the wrong game to throw him back in for, but he was extremely poor.

Hes definitely a player who needs rhythm, and to be fair, he started to play better in November/December when he had a few games under his belt, but he always looks a mile off it when he only has starts here and there.

He should be playing more regularly, he was very good up until the injury but he’s been available for a while and not had many minutes, which could have given Gomez more of a break. Given the league context you’d probably want him starting the away leg.

He's played 161 minutes in 2024 before last night, and people think he's going to be fully on it. He seems to be the only player we think we can just chuck back into the side after missing loads of football without easing back in, and then get shitty when he doesn't play well. Duh.

He was very good until he got injured, very odd that he's been so underused since coming back. It's all tied up with the weird things we're doing with fullbacks at the moment.

It's reasonable to make the point that he's hardly played and it's therefore a bit unfair that he gets thrown in and expected to perform. I'd also agree with the post just above yours that he should've had a couple more appearances lately and given Gomez a rest.

Having said all that, he should still be doing better - last night he was awful.

Was in SKD upper last night and trust me, he was a casualty of the way that the team played.

The team isolated him a lot (same with Gomez) and gave him absolutely zero support or help when he had the ball out wide. Absolute credit to Atalanta who totally smothered us in all areas as they completely swamped him but we didn't help ourselves as we routinely put the ball out to him and gave him no options at all with no-one showing so he had to hold on to it which they pounced on.

Point being, is that when you were as utterly wank as we were acrtoss the board, you can't just make this judgement on one player

Think that's all fair. System was a joke, adaptation to the way Atalanta were playing was a joke and the players' lack of support for each other was a joke. And Tsimikas was far from the only one a mile off it.

He was still terrible though. And as much as he's a good lad and a tryer, I do think we need to improve there.

He's been hung out to dry really. I'm sure he's as frustrated as anybody with his lack of opportunities. Then when he is called upon he's starting from scratch and the cycle repeats.

I noticed Atalanta gave both FBs more time on the ball than any of our other players.

I think Tsimikas has been acceptable as a nbr2 for so long because Robbo has probably played more minutes under Klopp than anyone other than Salah. This is the first season where Robbo has not been available and when we had to depend on Tsimikas for more games, a) he got injured himself unfortunately and b) he just isn't quite good enough for a regular run of games.

Robbo isn't getting younger in a position that demands legs either so I think we will have a LB rebuild coming soon.

Anyone know why he was not on the bench vs Crystal Palace? Because Greek media are reporting today that a big name from the Greek national team was found doping with a second test pending. Only after the second test is verified will they release the name.
