If it was me i'd sell:

Jones (3M)
Konchesky (4M)
Kyrgiakos (2M)
Poulsen (4M)
Cole (6M)
Poulsen (5M)
Jovanovic (6M)
Aquilani (12M)
Aurelio (3M)
Maxi (5M)
Ngog (8M)

Brings in 58M

I would buy:

Lloris (12M)
Coentrao (18M)
Hummels (8M)
M'vila (12M)
Marvereux (Free)
Hazard (20M)
Sanchez (20M)

I've not really seen Hazard, Coentrao, Sanchez, Hummels or M'vila much but everyone on the internet reckons they are boss so think we should definitely get them. Net spend of ~40M would get them so seems realistic. No reason why these players wouldn't want to join us either. Just need FSG and Kenny/Comoli to get out there now and get the transfers done.

If we don't buy players like those above I fear for our chances next season.

So you haven't even seen half of them play but if we don't get them we're doomed?

Poulsen £4m and also £5m? Joe Cole £6m? Are you having a laugh?

We'd be lucky to get half of that £58m for that list of players. And Lloris moving to be Reina's backup, wut?

If I have been massively wooshed, you're a cock.

Not saying he didn't do well but he wasn't tested that much but did well when he was, like I said he is good prospect saying he can be second choice atm is ridiculous. I'd give him cup games, and a couple of sub appearances next season

i think we're basically saying the same thing

the lad did well but let's not overhype it etc. etc.

Maxi 5m? Ngog 8m?  :o

How are we going to get Lloris for 12M? And specially without selling Reina, is he gonna sit on the bench?

In all honesty my post was a bit tongue in cheek (have a look at my previous posts).

I've seen similar posts pop up recently where I think people are being serious. I just wanted to see if people would see how unrealistic and simplistic it is when you just list of people to buy and sell.

I personally also think most of the players I listed to buy will be very difficult for us to attract. I would be extremely surprised to see Sanchez, Hazard, Lloris (whether Pepe goes or not) or Coentrao lining up for us next season. You've got to ask why would they join us when they are likely to have numerous offers from other clubs who in the short term look more attractive propositions?

The other piece is that I think people are listing potential signings on the basis of internet hype. I'd love to know how many people on here have seen some of the players listed on a regular basis, or how many are just pulling out potential signings based on a few snippets. I would also say you need to have seen them in the flesh to get a true feel of their movement, positioning, teamwork etc..

Just wanted to try and bring some realism to the thread.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Someone's been playing too much FM, who would pay those fees for Cole, Jova, Maxi, Polsen, Konchesky, Ngog

it's easy

1. Derby County will offer you 2.5millions for Cole

2. You type in that you want 8millions

3. then those silly sodds only go and offer you the 6millions you secretly wanted all along

4. then you buy sanchez and hazard for 3 millions each

Think I caught myself a few fish in this thread today! ;)

In all honesty I was trying to make a point in my original post -  be realistic about who we can and will buy (this isn't aimed at you by the way).

Even if we don't buy Hazard, Sanchez or Coentrao next season, I'm still pretty optimistic that we'll perform better next year. Just don't want peope to be disappointed or be on a downer with the club if we sign Jarvis, Young and Adam instead for example. For me these are more realistic targets then those I mentioned originally.

I Agree.

There is circa £100m worth of talent listed there. Whilst I do believe FSG will invest heavily......a £100m on 4 players? - aint going to happen.
i believe we'll spend close to £100m and sell close to 4m, we'll also get in less players than we'll let go of..:P

I get the feeling Kenny's got the job and knows it - they're just concentrating on matters in hand and dotting the is and crossing the ts at end of season. He went to Rennes to scout Yann M'Vila the other day, who is clearly someone Comolli likes and has suggested. Logic suggests there's no way Kenny would be running the rule over him if Comolli knew Kenny wasn't going to be there come next season.

Anyone seen this? http://www.nesn.com/2011/04/report-niko-kranjcar-tells-friends-that-he-wants-to-join-liverpool-in-summer.html

Not a single quote but it just gives me an excuse to talk about Kranjcar, someone who i wanted us to sign from Portsmouth, would be a decent player to replace Spearing in his current role. Not that Spearing isn't doing well but it would improve our squad and help us become stronger. We already have plenty of Midfielders and may get another one in the summer so this may not be the best buy but if he comes cheap then i wouldn't mind. He would still be a bench player i guess but i'm sure if he replaced Spearing he would get more games then he does at Spurs.

Can't agree with most of the implications of your post

You want a world class winger but M'Vila wouldn't even consider us because of talk in the papers about interest from Real Madrid and United. How then do you propose we find this world class winger that no top club is after?

What was it 22m for Suarez & 35m for Carroll. If we repeat that how many players can you see us buying?  Two maybe three? I don't think that's enough to repair the squad.

As I recall Cole was bought not as a winger but to play a central position. Regardless it was never a like for like swap it was about balancing the squad and fulfilling a role.

Dzsudzsák is a world class left foot free kick taker. A genuine left winger of quality
Enrique is twice the LB than anybody we have (Aurelio excluded due to injury).
Cahill is better in general but particularly in the air than Skrtel
Adam is a cheap deep lying play maker that can also take a free kick with his left foot.
M'Vila because he is a beast of a DM
Young because he is quick as anybody, plays wide and can score a goal.

Don't get me wrong I'd love Mata, Sahin, Subotic & Coentrao I just think NESV will struggle to both get them but more to the point justify that sort of spending.

Everything I've read/heard suggests that M'Vila won't come to us because of Real / Man United / others' interest.  That's just one player, obviously others (like Suarez) are keen on us but M'Vila doesn't seem interested at all.

Out of those players/that money, I'd prefer to pay for one world class winger than the two you've mentioned (although, admittedly know very little about Dzsud. ) and bring in Marveuax on a free.  Left back agreed.  M'Vila would cost top money anyway so spending it on someone who wants to play for us won't cost any more, Cahill looks a great player but I think City will take it into ridiculous money so we'll probably get another top CB for less. And I'd rather do without Adam if he's all we can afford/attract.
"Whatever I say doesn't matter, though. What counts for something is every Saturday afternoon, or Sunday or Monday, that 90 minutes. We've got 12 times 95 minutes – I don't know how many minutes that is, but every one is going to count."  - Hodgson Feb 2011

The opinion I always get of him is that he's a bit of a jack of all trades midfielder, will do well in most but will never be consistently good/great in one

Is he a winger, a playmaker, a CM? I don't really know

Apparently - and I still don't know if this is true (who knows, unless we can get a video of it) - but he didn't say he was leaving Porto for Liverpool, but he said he would consider it.

Seen a couple of rumours about this would prefer him to Adam
