Only a friendly of course, but PSG 3-0 up against Real Madrid after 40 minutes.

Looking like a real Unai Emery team already, fast, fluent attacks with plenty of width. Fancy them to be very strong this season.

Meunier came on for his debut after 10 minutes due to a Thiago Silva injury and he's scored two of their goals from right back. One of them a real great hit. He looks a big prospect. Best right back at the Euros by a distance for me.

Wonder how they'll manage the Aurier/Meunier rotation. Aurier isn't a player who likes being on the bench...for any length of time,

PSG lost 3-1 to Monaco. They are gonna miss Ibra this season, he carried them. Cavani is no longer a top striker. Jese is good, but it's big boots to fill.

Jardim has done a brilliant job at Monaco. If he wins them the league title this season he deserves to manage a bigger club.

Talent has never been the issue for him. Don't care if he scores 20 this year, I'll still be happy we managed to get rid of him.

Eh, he might end up with a 1 in 2 record and that'll colour the fact that he doesn't score enough from open play.

Former Burkina Faso international Ben Idrissa Derme has died during a French Cup tie for amateur side AJ Biguglia.

The 34-year-old suffered a heart attack early in the second half of the third-round tie while playing for the French sixth-division side.

The medical services treated him on the pitch but were unable to revive him.

Derme had been capped four times by Burkina Faso and had played in the French lower leagues and in Moldova, as well as in Burkina Faso.

Awful that. 34 is nothing  :(

What a tit  :D

We reported on 17 September that French club Lyon had pulled out of negotiations to sign Togo international striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

A free agent since his contract expired with Crystal Palace at the end of last season, he had held talks with coach Bruno Genesio but a deal "failed to materialise".

However, according to The Mirror Genesio has another side to the story...

“We had a place in our squad for Manu, so I arranged to meet him for a coffee in Lyon," he is quoted as saying.

“But, to my surprise, when he arrived he asked for a shot of whisky in his coffee. He also had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth."

Genesio admitted the interview "began badly" before he decided not to pursue a move for the ex-Manchester City and Tottenham man.

I have a few mates that live there and attend a few games a season, they was awful last season and hasn't changed much this season so far, was there on sunday for the Lyon game and the stadium was empty in comparison to the same fixture last season. They've just been sold to some american so maybe it may change things

Things really couldn't be much worse for them at the minute. They're constantly selling their better players and replacing them with bargain basket buys and continue to be closer to the bottom than the top.

This is true you just have to look at some of the players they've sold over the last 2 seasons. Payet , Ayew, Gignac , Thuavin ( all though back on loan ) Batshauyi , Mandanda , Nkoudou. There is a lot of politics at the top of the club and has been badly run over the last few seasons there was quite a few protests in the stands last season trying to get MLD to sell / Not having won at home in 9months. Be interesting to see when McCourt takes over if they can start challenging for the title again.

I know Cavani is scoring lots of goals already this season (it is Ligue 1 though, even Ballo scores there ;) ), but he's missed 2 more ridiculous chances in the game v's Toulouse. Yes, good saves by the 17 year old goalie, but fec me, 2 foot out from goal, you HAVE to score! Then a bullet header close in, again, saved.

St Etienne-Nice still 0-0, Balotelli not in the squad (injured or due to cards?). Nice still on top if this ends 0-0.

Nice still top after 15 games. A good 1-0 away win vs 7th place Guingamp - especially with Balotelli, Hassen & Baysse all out injured.

For me, Nice is all about the Baysse.

St Etienne draw with Marseilles 0-0 in the battle for mid-table obscurity.

Poor Nantes hit for 6 in their own ground vs Lyon.

Lyon’s Ligue 1 match at Metz was abandoned on Saturday after firecrackers were thrown at the goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, one of which exploded next to him as he was receiving treatment.

The incident took place after Metz went 1-0 in front midway through the first-half at Stade Saint-Symphorien, with the first device landing in the six-yard box and knocking Lopes to the ground.

As players and medical staff rushed over to help another firecracker landed next to Lopes and exploded, catching the goalkeeper and a club doctor.

The referee, Lionel Jaffredo, subsequently took the players off the pitch, and the match was abandoned after a further 45-minute delay. Lyon later tweeted to say Lopes was being assessed in hospital.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel, the governing body, confirmed it would be conducting an investigation, saying in a statement: “The LFP regrets this incident, and will be uncompromising in dealing with it.”

Speaking immediately after the game, Lyon’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas, said: “At best, he suffered very significant tinnitus. He has no balance and doesn’t really know where he is. At worst, his eardrum may be affected.

“This is so serious, so shameful. Security must be provided by the host club. We saw things that are unacceptable and unthinkable. I expect a strong reaction from the LFP and FFF [Fédération Française de Football].”

Decent game tonight with 2nd place Monaco away to a decent 7th place Bordeaux side pushing for a European place. Streams will appear here - https://www.reddit.com/r/soccerstreams/

and Sunday night's PSG vs Nice should be a cracker - really hope Nice can get a point (or more). Live on BT Sport at 7.45pm. Think Balotelli may be back for this one too...
