I think he'll be a good signing.

How we view him as a signing in this window depends largely on what improvements we do/don't make to midfield.

I have a feeling we're going to slowly stop thinking about the price tag as more and more signings come into the PL. 30m already doesn't seem like all that much anymore.

As for Mane...welcome. He's got the tools to succeed here, and we've got the manager to help him do it.

Fee seems high to me if Mkhitaryan is going to the Mancs for £26 million. Still them signing Depay & us signing Firmino last summer worked well.

It's actually around £35m. And he has a year left on his contract, Mane has 2.

Mikhitaryan has a year left on his contract.

Mkhtaryan is also a couple of years older, with a lower chance of resale. Not dramatically different, but that plus the contract thing surely accounts for the 4m 'discount.'

He might play some games in central midfield as well as giving some cover in the wide roles. He didn't complain about being used that way last season.

With Ings, Origi, Lallana, Ibe, Ojo and Markovic all able to slot in as well, he might be glad to get on the pitch at all.
