Get the recruitment right, ideally a goal scoring midfielder to take the burden off the front 3 and hope that City don’t pull off any uber signings.

Not for me, 14' seemed like a one off, no reason to believe we'd challenge for the title any time soon after that failure. With this I am confident we will be up there next season as well.

Nah, '14 was way, way worse. We lost that when it was in our hands with 3 games to go and we knew it would in all likelihood be Stevie's final crack at it.

This time we've known for months that it probably wasn't going to happen because it hasn't been in our hands since the derby. And besides, we have the team this time to actually challenge again and we have a CL final to look forward to.

It doesn't sting. Its disappointing but we did nothing wrong. We've had a great domestic campaign, and we are in a final of the European cup. We will be just as strong next season. Disappointment is a feeling but pride the overwhelming one.

Doesn’t hurt me to be honest.
If we had lost to a rival, an actually big and important club that was built the right way but we failed to beat them in the end - it would probably hurt a lot. Losing to City just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. One you get daily when faced with corruption, greed and worse sides of human nature. Football lost today, not Liverpool. Money won today, not Manchester City.

It's disappointing, but I'm proud of everyone involved - we never gave up and we cannot see this as a failure of a season. Even I wouldn't have predicted this back in August!

Gutted and have a 7 year old in tears, not to sure what we need to do to win the league! Super proud of the lads and we were lucky to see them do Newcastle 4-1 at anfield.

A few additions in the summer and smash spurs on 1st would make up for it! YNWA!

Well done boys. Gave absolutely everything and that's all you can ask for. We've got more points than some incredible teams: Chelsea 16/17, Mourinho's great Chelsea sides, all of Ferguson's teams, Wenger's Invincibles, none of them got as many points as this side. So proud.

In a way the 1-4 Brighton scoreline is a bit easier to take than them scraping a 0-1 result.

It's been brilliant watching these lads this season and I'm sure we'll be well up for another battle with them come August.

We need some of our 'rivals' to strengthen. They've been pathetic this season. Most of them gave up before a ball was even kicked against City.

I'm disappointed, but not upset as I'm proud we took the most doped club in football history to the final day and made them require a win to get the title.

The gap between us and the rest shows how far we've come, and we have a fantastic platform now on which to challenge for years - players, fans, manager and owners all working in harmony.

We only took a point off them, played well within ourselves at Anfield. You can't point the finger at other teams when we didn't take it to them at home either and only got a point because they skied a last minute penalty.

Fantastic work in the league from Klopp, the staff, players. This many points, 2 champions league finals, that's enough credit in the bank for Klopp to ensure he has the job for as long as he wants even accounting for a terrible season or two in the future.

Think the 4 - 0 and the final probably takes some of the edge off what is an unprecedented points tally to end up with no title, but the hurt will come unless we win the champions league.
