There's 9 of us going over but somehow we've ended up with about 15 tickets from numerous season ticket holders credit hunting. We're taking the tickets with us so if anybody in need of any whilst in Istanbul then we'll probably be around Taksim. That's where our hotel is.
Really looking forward to this one

From Stephen075's quote, though this post........Tells me otherwise  ;D ;D

He's winding you up mate that would never happen.

Example...... I've bought my ticket through the club and im going. No-one has told me to bring my Membership Card to get it scanned, I don't usually take my LFC member card on holiday with me. (Which is the only way they could get away with it if they were going to do this)

I honestly think the club aren't assed, from my experience speaking to other fans it's only Man United (That I know of) that make you pick up tickets with your passport when you get to the country from a set place.

Can't wait for this game though! Very happy I got it booked when I did!!!

Taksim Square, loads of pubs and bars.  There's a McNasty's there as well and they're also scanning the fan cards for those not arriving by plane.

You need to have made 15 posts before being able to send (or reply to) PM's.  Just make 3 more posts and you'll be able to reply.

Hi everyone!

Me and my girlfriend are travelling to Istanbul on that day and just found out there is an away match taken there, but tickets are all sold out on the website. We will be grateful if you could sell us two tickets!! I am still excited about meeting this match by coincidence as I didn't know  Beşiktaş is a Turkeys team until just now!

Many thanks in advance!

Lads - what's your plan of getting home from Ataturk after the game? Obviously easy to just get a cab out there, but seems to be tough to get home. Anyone else who've been there before - and what did you do then? Ta.

Who you going with? Delta?

They'll hang on for you I'm sure. It'll be worth their while as if they returned empty, they'd be unlikely to pick up a fare on their way back.

Been thinking this meself;

1. its costing £10 each way on this bus to get to the ground with the police escort. Theres 3 of us going so for an extra £10-£20 quid we can probs get a taxi which will be faster. Thats my thoughts anyway. Also I dont like the idea of the bus dropping me off there early with fuck all to do. No bars and I doubt they will be happy for us to drink cans outside (may be wrong) so i'm going to try and plan it to get to the ground 30 mins before. Anyone wants to geg in the cab from taksim square more than welcome.

2. Coming home, no idea..... Hopefully If i get a cab i'll arrange to meet him outside but doubt it will happen, probally end up getting the bus back with everyone. Can't imagine them being too happy when we knock them out  ;D

Ye, I get what you're saying mate about getting there early but for 10 Euro return, you cant really complain. We will probably just jump on that, get in there and get the flag up. The escort doesn't leave until 4pm, it takes roughly 40 minutes to get there, so It won't be that bad like.

10 Euros and a bizzie escorts a decent deal.

Last time we used this service, my uncle was "banging on the window singing that Luis Garcia song" and it went through and he followed it onto the road and broke both arms and missed the fuckin game

So are they saying they will leave at 4 and the game is at 8 Istanbull time, so that leaves 4 hours to get there? ]

Or am I lost in this thread haha!!!  :-\

Also 10 quid returns alot cheaper so am warming to the sound of that, then again if a 100 of us get the metro that should be ok aswell!

Haha yea 'dry' stadium and no bars around. It will be sound if you can sit off somewhere with a crate or whatever but can't imagine the police being ok with that.

Hopefully from 4 means that will be the first bus and they will go on from 6-6.30 or something. 'hopefully'

If not the metro idea sounds ok if there's a load of us.

Sound. Same here. But: ''The stadium is not on Istanbul’s metro system, not particularly easy to reach by public transport, and the easiest way to get there is therefore taking a taxi. Alternatively, bus line 146 T stops reasonably close to the stadium. This line can be taken slightly west of the city centre at metro station Aksaray or train station Yenikapi.''

My mate have actually thought about maybe renting a car, does this mean that we've got our own parking? ''Liverpool supporters parking will be in front of the entrance turnstile "R". This includes any cars, mini-buses and coaches. Anyone arriving by taxi can drop-off outside the entrance to the parking area, which is dedicated to Liverpool supporters only.''

Don't get it.... Why are they putting on buses at 4pm to be at the ground by 5pm for an 8 o'clock ko???

Even if the buses are 'from' 4pm who is going to want to be on an early one??

Getting there will be a piece of piss in a taxi, its the getting back where the bus will be a good option....

Enough moaning, can't wait for this one  :wave

The stadium now has its own station on a spur of the M3 metro line, Olimpiyat, two stops from Ikitelli Sanayi. The line starts at Kirazli, now the end of the extended red M1B line from Yenikapi and Aksaray. Allow a good 45min from town.

Beşiktaş have sold 67,000 tickets for the match. This is according to a Beşiktaş fan I met in 2005, I have been in contact with him since the draw.
That's 67k plus whatever we take.

It's going to be a brilliant atmosphere, if true.
