Cheese? With chips and gravy?

 :shocked

 :shite:

You've never had it? It's tremendous. Has to be cheese on the chips then gravy over the top though. It just isn't the same if the gravy is on first then the cheese.

Raglan Road Irish Pub part of WDW in Orlando.
Great fish, chips and a bowl of garden peas on the side.

That's not a chippy though

Best Fish & Chips you've had outside of the UK lads.  :wave

Mine has to be in Marmaris of all places.   ;D

Never done it, I refuse to eat English food when I'm abroad.

Currywurst and chips from an Imbiss in Berlin was gorgeous and is the nearest to chippy food I've eaten abroad.

Same here. Went to Mallorca with parents and in laws a few years back and they toddled off for a Sunday roast at the rose and crown or some such. It was 35 degrees And they were baffled as me and Mrs LS left them to it.

There is another option. Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple.

First time we went to Alykanas on Zante the missus had got a list of the top 20 or so restaurants from TripAdvisor. When we went to the No1 on the list, we saw it was English, swerved it and went to the nearest local restaurant. There was a load of these fantastic small Greek restaurants and this English place was packed.  :o

It might have been battered first to kill it but it was breadcrumbed from memory.  Right opposite the Turtle Centre - couldn't be more fresh!

Being a Brit could explain my liking for the food. The food here in Germany is good but, in my opinion, doesn't beat British food.
The takeaways here are Italian, Turkish, a Bakery or Macdonald's, don't compare with a chippy.
Pie and mash needs a good gravy on it.

Visiting my mother in Devon the other year, I had a pasty from the local bakery and was really disapointed, mainly pastry and little filling. However, it gave me the idea to make my own at home. A mix of mince, onions and cubed potato with taste powders to suit done in a frying pan. Leave to cool a bit. Then a roll of pastry from the supermarket. Wrap the mix in pastry and bung them in the oven for a while. With a Chilli gravy, tastes great. An easy meal.
(I cook everything with Chilli)
