Just tried 'Wall of Fame' which is next door-ish to Pink. You can see the Cavern out of the window.

Anyway, it had a nice vibe, American/Scouse décor and the urinals are made out of beer kegs which I thought was boss.

I got the pretzel covered chicken strips with whiskey BBQ sauce and sweet potato fries which was spot on. Would deffo go again.

Off to Mowgli now, I'm relying on you, RAWK.

Hope you liked it. Only been there for lunch but loved the tiffin we got.

I'm addicted to the burgers in Nolita Cantina. Been three times already this year. Fries are great too. Like that they also lob in a few sweet potato fries. Took the kids through the week and they loved it too. One of my favourite gaffs in town.

Was in CAU restaurant in Castle Street over the weekend, thought the food was really nice, service was excellent, bill was £220 for four of us but half the bill was for drinks.

Enjoyed Salt House Tapas... highly recommend the chili chorizo dish and the belly pork. Red wine sangria went down a treat. Well priced menu.

Went to Moose Coffee the next day for breakfast; that was tremendous too.

Also ventured into Rococo coffee house and loved it. They do a cracking flat white and had gluten-free options for the missus. Great interior too.

Overall, Liverpool's not too bad!

Liverpool is similar to Manchester in many ways; you drive in and think, err, needs a bit of TLC round here. Then you get into the city and it's ruddy marvelous.

Blackburne House Café last night for pre-theatre meal.

Haven't been for ages, but glad to see that its still a boss place for a very reasonably priced meal.

Loads of choice, including several very nice veggie options, if you are that way inclined. Lost of very homely desserts too, with proper custard. Yum.

Commented to the girl serving how much the food reminded me of the old Everyman bistro, and she advised that when the Ev closed for refurbishment, their chef moved to Blackburne House, and liked it there so much that he never bothered going back when the Ev reopened.

Highly recommended - great place.

So chy on lark lane had a bit of class as i remember(not been since deadline day when we failed to sign clint dempsey in 2012) so when another chy opened by the adelphi i booked the family in there. We originally went to chy on lark lane cos we were told they didnt use msg in their food. What i got last night was a city centre cash cow and all the good work they had done on lark lane was sent up in flames. Was expecting a nice meal. Instead i got the average china town late night experience. You might think i'm nit picking but keep in mind we expected a bit of class: first off rusty door handle on the front door sets the tone, dirty menus, prawn crackers in a dirty bowl when we sat down, taking our order and bringing the main course out with the starters. Add to that the hen do and kids birthday parties near us and you realise our error of judgement. As for the food just standard chinatown level as i said before and have abandoned the 'no msg' thing. Save your money and get down to the chilli pot. Came to £70 so wasnt exactly a really cheap meal but we got a really cheap experience.

Disappointing to hear that mate. About 20 of us celebrated a 75th in there at the back end of last summer and it was nothing like you said. That said we were there early in the afternoon and it was quiet at first so we did have full attention of the staff but it was clean and the food was above average.

Il Forno is really nice (if a little expensive).

The Olive Press is also good (now called just "Olive", I think - don't know if it has changed hands or just rebranded).

Villa Romano on Wood Street, too.

Went to Finca yesterday, to try out their Cuban sandwiches.

Its a pop-up restaurant on New Bird St, off Jamaica Street.

Not really a restaurant at all; they only have about 4 things on the menu, and you place your order at a serving hatch in the corner of an outdoor courtyard. There's seating outside and inside, and there's a vibe very similar to the ruin bars in Budapest. There's 2 bars [one inside, one outside] and they do a very good range of cocktails and beers.

Our Cuban sandwiches and sweet potato fries were excellent, and the price was ok too [£6 for the sandwich, £4 for the fries].

Only problem was the service really; almost an hour is obviously way too long to wait for a toasted butty, even ones as excellent and freshly made as ours were.

Would defo go back for a second try though.

I went to Bakchich on Bold Street recently that does Lebanese street food.

Lovely food, great atmosphere.

I ordered the Chicken Swarma which was served on a bed of Hommos.

Shit meself when the food came out served on top of Grimshaw  ;D

Totally agree. Been to Bakchich twice over the past couple of weeks. Tremendous food. Love the place. Even took the kids there the other night, and they loved it too.

Not sure if I've posted in here since we went to Mowgli, but that was spot on too. Prawn curry was the "worst" thing we had. Wouldn't recommend it. Pretty bland. Everything else was perfectly spiced and delicious. Nom nom nom.

Every time I've been past it's been too full to get in :(. They are opening a bigger site on Castle Street soon so I'll check it out then.

Wasn't a fan of Miyagi on Bold street. Another style over substance hipster place.

Anyone been to DeathRowDiner? Planning a trip up for the last day of the season and haven't been out in town properly for 12 months, so am massively out of the loop.

DRD looks pretty nice though.

I have been there. Rob Gutmann and Paul Senior are involved there. It`s a cool concept. A cool vibe in the place. The food is decent within the burger/diner genre, but you have to take it for what it is. Depends on what you are after. If you`re in for a bite and "movie vibe" I`d recommend it. It`s something different. If you want more of a gourmet, "nicer" dinner, I`d recommend a place like Fazenda (which I believe is the best place I`ve eaten in Liverpool).

DRD is also located nice.

DRD is alright, the burgers are nice enough but service was fairly slow when I went. Of the "dirty burger" type places in town I think Almost Famous is the best.

It`s a little bit hipster, no doubt about that. They serve Pabst Blue Ribbon and all of that. It ticks a lot of hipster boxes. Maybe a few too many. One of my favourite things the first time I went there was that the toilet was dark and creepy as hell. Very Twin Peaks-y- The last time I went to DRD they had put in more light that was a little bit disappointing.
