Surprised I was the only one to pick Stenson. Been striking it great for the last few months and only withdrew due to illness last week.

I notice, like me you have gone for Kyle Stanley. Not a bad start from him.

When it comes to Ball striking he is second to none on tour at the moment and that's a fact.

If Stanley could make some putts he'd be top 25 in the World. He's great from tee to green.

Go on SSP lad

Can't believe I was the only picker of him. He is a master when playing in his own country and has won on this course before.

Happy with Pigem's +1 second rd score too

I thought this course would be way too long for Chawrasia. He averages about 260 yards off the tee, there's a par 3 longer than that!  ;D Looks like it's actually more a test of accuracy though. The course he won on last year was a lot shorter and tighter so this is some effort from him.

Yep. all round game needed according to Lahiri who really bigged up Chawrasia before the event began in this article.

I didn't see this on the European Tour website before now but if i had i would have had more money on SSP than I already have.

Long way to go yet like and he could shoot an 80 tomorrow :)

A 67 doesn't sound that impressive out of context but when you look at the scores of those around him it has to be one of the best rounds all year. Just 7 players under par today and his round is by far the best. Good pick, Pete.

Cheers G.  Long way to go and Manassero only just teed off his 2nd round. Play stopped for the day.  Cabrera-Bello is looming too.

On the subject of Matteo Manassero, he's been in the golf wilderness for a while now.  I remember a few years back he was tipped to be the next Tiger at a very young age.  Obviously still a very good player but hasn't quite pushed to the next level yet like Rose, Fowler, Mcilroy etc.

I'd say that's likely. I don't really understand why the European Tour immediately shortens its tournaments, while PGA events regularly end on Mondays.

Field here felt too big

They only lost 90 mins yesterday but some players had half a round left almost

Hopefully gets cut to theee rounds as will have half a chance then!

Back underway in India.  Its half five over there now.

Not sure what time it gets dark out there. If they get another hour or two in tonight and an early start tomorrow we should be good for all 4 rounds.

Ah Bo i didn't think they would resume. But yeah..fake news indeed :)

I based my picks around Ball striking this week in the US and so nearly did Jim Herman who features in the top 10 of the current best ball strikers on the PGA tour. Bugger :no

dudley could be in for a great tournament here, with Pepperell, Horsey and Hoey all in the top ten, and Randhawa and Khrongpha making the cut, too. All of them will have their points doubled, of course :). Pete is the only other player with golfers in the top 20.

On the other hand, Gerry is the only one with players in the top ten at the PGA event, with both Hadwin (double points) and Stenson in the top five.

Good from Hanson and Lahiri today, both are inside the top 20 now. If they post a 67 or 68 tomorrow they might sneak into the top 10.

Angles makes more birdies than just about anybody. If he went bogey free all week he'd have finished on 20 under, Chawrasia would only be -16 without bogeys. He just needs to become more consistent and then he'll win.

I guess you could have done without Pigem's double bogey on the 18th. On the plus side, it earned Gerry and me three extra points. Not that it saved me from dropping to the bottom of the table.
