in the words of king kenny, "piss off"
If you think Lucas fucking Leiva is going to be the first name on that team sheet in the middle of the park then you sir are insane. We now have at least two central midfielders who are better than him.

How this can be denied is beyond me.

I think you're taking the piss but I am not sure. Gerrard was injured last year but if we're building a team expecting him not to play much of a role then we need far better players than Adam and Henderson. And who mentioned Poulsen? Gerrard, Lucas, Aquilani, Meireles with Spearing and Shelvey as back up. Just how many CMs does a team need?
He's not taking the piss.

Have not seen enough of him to judge just happy we have signed someone who the manager wants. Hopefully will have the same type of influence Jan had over other Kenny side(s).

Hopefully Lucas gets less playing time now. He did well last year, but he was simply the best of a very bad bunch most of the time.

He still goes missing on more than the odd occasion and still gives away stupid fouls.

Plus he slows the play down considerably.

Times they are a changing  8)

This is actually one of the most important roles that a CM can perform. It gives the defenders a chance to recover.

I'm happy with this signing.

It says he's 25.

My arse. He's older than me. I'm lighter too :)

He's not taking the piss, it sounds like you are with the stuff you are coming out with.

Henderon is best on the right side of midfield, not in the centre, but he can play in either. Stevie is Stevie, can play anywhere. Lucas and Spearing will compete for one spot next season. Shelvey will go on loan to Blackpool. One of Aqua and Raul will 100% be leaving, therefore considering we want 2 players for each position really, I don't see where you are going with this. Who is to say we won't be playing 4-5-1 with Suarez playing from the left/right and 3 central midfielders?
We're on our way to glory...

Bit of a much younger Gary Mac... can't be bad. Hope he has a similar effect.

Bang on mate, made up.

Am I the only one who is a bit gutted.  I just don't see what all the fuss is about.  He'll be better than Spearing on the bench, but for me Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles and Aquilani are all better than Adam. :(

Meireles and Aquilani have never had a Premier League season as good as Adam.

Can't wait until we're playing awkward sides at Anfield playing for a draw and we have a player who can pass it like Adam can who can help open them up by playing the ball quickly and accurately consistently over distances short and long, as we haven't had since Xabi left.

But another central midfielder, I don't know why Kenny love CM though, I hope that he will not do the same thing last season, played natural C\M like Raul and Shelvey out wide though.

Not one them can spread the ball like Adam can

Not one of them was the direct cause of 2 goals for the opposition either due to sloppy play.
Rossiter absolutely bossed it tonight. Really believe he'll end up playing more games this season than Lucas.

Again, where has this total bullshit idea that Adam can't last 90 minutes come from?

Out of the 35 league games he played in last season, he played less than 90 minutes in 4 of them. 2 of those 4 he played all but the last 5 minutes.

Stop making stuff up.

Im not making anything up, I was answering his question about Aqualini and Meirelles not lasting the pace for 90 minutes, if people thought Meirelles was knackerd they obviously didnt see Adam around the 70 minute mark for Blackpool. I have no complaints about him signing I like him, love his enthusiasm for the game and we would have finished in the top 4 had he signed in january.

Now,a defender,a winger or two and a back up striker and lets feckin ave em........

The difference between Adam and say raul, aquilani is very little when they're all on song, but consistency wise adam is what we need. We need to be tougher and all our players turn up away from home.

My opinion would be that Aquilani would be better suited to open teams up like that rather than Charlie Adam. Aquilani is a better passer of the ball and he passes it at better pace.
