Probably a bit biased but If I was putting a parentage on it I would say -

Joins us 50%
Stays where he is 25%
Goes to Bayern 25%

In different circumstances we might have got Bellingham. The club was a mess last season on and off the pitch and were going to miss out on the CL and its revenue for one thing, while the owners were looking to sell the club, Edwards/Ward were out and we basically needed a whole new midfield. If we were challenging on all fronts again like 21/22 (or this season) his decision last season might have been different. I don't think we'd have been waiting for him without encouragement from the player - the issue was always that by sitting on our hands we were sleepwalking into a malaise.

Having the structure back in place again and the squad in much better shape, should help us get our man. Ultimately though Alonso just might not want to have the burden of replacing Klopp. Edwards was reluctant to come back himself but the club were insistent, similar when we got Klopp originally.

Don't forget the doctor quitting, fuck sake Fromola, don't forget the doctor.

Dr, Dr, I'm shrinking!

I'm sorry sir, you'll have to be a little patient.

Liverpool is certainly a possibility for Ruben Amorim, although the process is ongoing and open so I'm not aware of any firm decisions at this point.

Ballague doesn't have a clue. In 2015 he was saying Klopp was more likely to join Bayern than Liverpool when he was in the city to sign the deal.

And just to give some perspective on the constant Plettigoal-tweets. Kicker are today reporting that Alonso is still Bayern's top pick, but if they can't get him, Ralf Rangnick (who's doing a stellar job with the Austrian national team BTW) is their top choice. They're looking at de Zerbi as well according to Kicker, but the higher ups are not that keen on him as he only speaks limited English and no German. So, it seems nobody seems to know anything for sure, but is just piecing stuff together from whatever they're able to pick up somewhere.

What the fuck is going on with Bayern Munich? Yes, I know they revel in this FC Hollywood shite and have a long history of tapping up and picking off the best players from any uppity challengers that dare challenge their domestic dominance, but this is getting ridiculous now. They're obsessed, as well as desperate.

Ever since Jurgen gave notice and Tuchel had his arse handed to him twice by Xabi and have now all but given up the title, they've lost the run of themselves in the media. Almost daily tweets from their mouthpieces saying they've "stolen a march" on us, they're the "measure of all things", that they have "backup options if (he) decides to stay with Leverkusen" like it's totally inconceivable he might want to succeed Klopp and that he ever said he "dreamt of managing Liverpool" ::)

At this rate, when Leverkusen are trying to focus on closing out a historic and unprecedented triumph, they'll piss him off so much he may never want to manage there. Do they not realise how counter-productive it is? I know he could also be an arrogant prick at times, but if Beckenbauer hadn't popped his clogs in January, you get the feeling there'd be someone high up with a bit of decorum to at least reign in (if not put a lid on completely) this sort of shite.

Interesting that this breaks at the same time Hoeness says exactly the same.

It’s either totally true (possible)

Or a ‘we do this behind the scenes and do nothing to distract BL’s title push’ message.

Bayern saying Alonso is ‘impossible’ this summer and Liverpool journos briefing he’s not on our shortlist for this summer.

Alonso must have told all interested clubs that he’s staying at Leverkusen or he’s told Liverpool and Bayernhes going to another club (maybe Real).

Always a reasonable possibility Alonso wouldn’t jump at the chance to join us this summer. A lot of people will be disappointed because a lot of people have convinced themselves that joining Liverpool this summer was a no brainer for Alonso. It probably never was or is a no brainer given the circumstances.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

There won’t be that exodus of players this summer at Leverkusen that some have imagined happening, so staying there and coaching them in the CL would be totally understandable and likely the right thing for Alonso to do. He’s going to be their greatest ever legend after winning the league and at least a double this season, be almost mad if he didn’t want to give it one hell of a go with them in the CL. They’ve actually a great chance of doing incredibly well.

Anyway, at least I can stop pretending to care about the Bundasliga now.
