I see what is happening at United happen at Barca after Messi retires.

Depends on the board.  One of many differences with United is that typically Barcelona play with a certain style and that is reflected throughout the academy - it's one of many reasons why players aspire to play for Barcelona.

Closest they'll get to being in Europe, then.

;D

We probably wouldn't even get yellows for that, we'd probably get someone sent off.

The Super Cup is being held in Tallinn this summer, the first European final to be played in Estonia. Good omen, hopefully!

We'll start keeping hold of players when we start winning things, not when we stop attaching blame to the wrong people.

Or maybe we'll start winning things when we start keeping hold of people?
I always said we had the best two teams on Merseyside… Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves.

I don't mind playing City again because, as football fans more than Liverpool fans, i think we're going to look back on Pep vs Jurgen as one of the great managerial battles of all time. From Germany to England it's beautiful watching two managers with such pure ideological beliefs in the way they want to play, and i want to see that battle in Europe as well.

Watching Pep when we spanked them telling City to keep playing out from the back was really heartening, because it demonstrated that he thinks if his tam can play through Jurgens press they can play through anything and watching Jurgen's belief that the way he sets up is the only way to play football, especially if you're playing the best passing sides in the world, it's really what this level of football is about.

Everyone get their credits in order

UEFA have released the ticket allocation for the final in Kiev

Out of the max capacity of 63k seats, each finalist team will receive only 17k tickets

22,300 will go to 'local organising committee, UEFA and national associations, commercial partners and broadcasters, and to serve the corporate hospitality programme'

The remaining 6,700 will be available to the public

Prices will range from 70-450 euros in a similar banding to the final last season in Cardiff

Redcafe already praying for us to get Barca or Real, doesn’t matter fuckers, we are there to win it all, we will overcome any opponent and you lot can go fck yourselves.

Of course they do, and if we were in their position we would want them to get the hardest draw possible too

We will rip them apart, then we've got to beat two of Barca, Real and Bayern.

That's a proper Euro journey. Excited!

Last season it was Bayern v Real and Juve v Barca in the quarters.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

it doesn't. It is what it is.  It's a shit draw yes, cos who wants to play a team from the same league in the CL quarter finals.

I'm sure Juve and Real Madrid are wishing there was a fix! 2 teams had to get Sevilla and Roma. And likely Juve and Real Madrid wish they'd have got Liverpool in this draw rather than each other.

But there is no fix.

Out of all combinations, I think there is about 60% chance of Primera teams not facing each other, it's not that rare.

Sorry, did you want an easy team in the last 8 teams of the champions league?

You say it as if wanting Liverpool to have a better chance of progressing is a bad thing?

Glamour ties against big teams are great, but the most important thing is LFC getting through to the next round. An easier game (Roma or Sevilla) would have been much more preferable imo.

Still fancy our chances against City though.

United had a style too, from Busby to Ferguson, fast wing play, went out the window.
