Quality from him as usual. Just imagine if that was the media's darling Hodgson now, he'd be joining in with the criticism of Andy.

yep

Roy Hodgson has told struggling Joe Cole to show his true form. "He should be convincing me and everyone watching that this is a player who can help Liverpool win things. And I think you couldn't say that has been the case so far."  muppet

Was brilliant seeing him stick up for Carroll.

Capello bringing his private life out in open was just fuckin wrong and you'd be tempted to hit back a lot stronger but Kenny really kept it cool and measured, straight to the point.
If he retires I'll eat my fucking cock.

Great anti climax for those expecting jizzihno....

Absolutely brilliant that is.

What a lark he makes of things.

He's a black belt in the dark verbal arts is our Kenny. He's the only man who can say to a journalist at the end of an interview where he's put him in his place - "pleasure" and no one is left in any doubt whatsoever, that that is glaswegian for fuck off

Just a great leader, and figurehead of the club. Stands up for the club and players so well. It will just fuel the desire of the players abit more. You just Know Andy and Craig will see that and get the fire burning to fight for Kenny.

Completely agree, Carroll will appreciate it more than we can know. Love the way the King remains utterly unfazed by the journo hordes.

Just saw the clip on youtube.  How Sly sports and the other media wankers must hate having to interview the King.  Andy and Craig will be watching that and realise even more that they've come to the right club!

I actually get the feeling Kenny and Andy have a great relationship, as i guess Kenny does have we most players. I remember when he came back in January Alan Hansen said his greatest quality is his man management. I think its clear as day since his return that this is true. Kenny inspires, make average players fell and play better than they are. There are not many who can do that, coupled with him eye for what is required to challenge for league over a season make me very happy. Im just happy he is back, and back with a board who back him so he has the players in the squad who he can trust and play for him and the shirt.

What I love about this, and several other of Kenny's press conferences, is that he manages to say something to the effect of  'Shut the fuck up, you fucking helmets and don't fuck with me or my football club or I'll make you eat your own balls', without actually using those words.

Very true.

The journo world like to go on about how Baconcheeks is the master of the presser and a "psychological genius" etc, but Kenny is even more astute than him AND he never has to resort to foul language or bullyboy tactics.  He's cool as fuck compared with Ginsoak's crude approach.

Carroll's fitness will stand up against anybody's. If he is fit then I'm worried, thought we was all givin him the benefit of the doubt until he regained his fitness but if It's down to not finding his form then I find that more worrying to be honest.

I'm of the opinion that it's a bit of both

Total class and leadership, if he has an issue, like Ferguson, we'd never know about it, unlike Ferguson he maintains dignity and humour in public and is gracious to everyone (except the press who do not deserve it). Andy is tall enough but that would make him feel taller, any issues that Kenny feels that he needs to know will be between the two them and that's the way it should be unless a relationship breaks down. Would you want to be the next journo who asks that question the next time Kenny holds court (sorry, has a press conference)

Only? Does that include members of whatever sex you may (or may not) be interested in?

p.s. did anyone see the short programme of his goals on LFCTV last night, what was most interesting, when they were shown in rapid sequence, was just how happy and excited he was every time he scored, like every goal was his first. Big kid/enthusiast to the last.

His conferences are good to listen to but better to observe, with only him on camera, his eyes are marvellous to watch, you can see his brain rapid fire already answering the question but also working out whether to kill the journo, slap him down or use humour, you can see the restraint being put in place so he never says the wrong thing even though he's thinking it.

His conference today was absolutely spot on. I loved his comments about Fergie's comment that 6 teams were in title contention......"If Fergie said so then it must be true!!". What a classic put down for those journalists who cling onto every word Sir Purplenose says. He was also spot on when he told them that they hoped Andy Carroll was living a bad lifestyle rather than knowing how he lived. The man is a legend.

Can't believe the bullish*t spin the Mirror's David Maddock used to write his "column" seriously he's getting paid for this hack journalism claiming "Kenny blasts Capello over Carroll's lifestyle comments".

Its not even bad journalism, its slander.

We all know how easy it is for Kenny to show up the press for being the repetative dumb ass idiots most of them are, but they now seem to want to do it all by themselves, because how anyone who has or does watch the full press conference could make any connection between it and that fairytale story written by David Maddock needs serious mental help.

I don't know about anyone else but I thought journalists had to provide proof to back up their work, and it was the job of their editors to check it.

I may be naive but Jesus Christ come on if I wanted gossip and rumours I'd go on twitter or buy heat. Then again I supposed they have to aim things at their target audience of semi-consious half-wits who think that reality TV is intellectually stimulating.

Oh and one last thing did I miss something or is it not universally excepted that Carroll cost us 35mil? I know LFC doesn't reveal what they spend but Maddock seems to have gone all SkySports in his value quoting 38mil!
