To be fair to him, it was a shit stoppage. I was rooting for Cejudo but even I'm pissed at that. Oh and Greg Hardy continues to be an idiot.

Yeah it was. It’s not like they’re fighting at heavyweight where an extra punch could seriously hurt someone.

Seen much worse stoppages but the ref needed to let that go another couple seconds. Don't think TJ was getting out of that situation all the same.

The ref decides to stop it when TJ gets dropped for a third (?) time. It looks bad because he's gotten himself somewhat upright at that point, but it's a decent stoppage.

He would have just gotten smashed further, which would have been fun anyway. Win/win.
Maybe the group, led by your leadership, will see these drafts as PR functions and brilliant use of humor

At least the ref made the decision and didn't fanny about jumping in and then backing out once he questions himself. It was early but justified.

Tj just didn't seem ready for the fight to turn up that quick, good job on Cejudo. I don't think it goes the same way at 135 though.

Ref did TJ a favour, he was only going to get pounded from there on out.

I really really hope the rumours about McGregor aren’t true, it would be a damn shame for his career to end with the Khabib mauling

The one doing the rounds that hasn't really changed in months is that he did something unconsensual (allegedly) but there's nothing at all to suggest it's true.

Usada tested him last week and said it came back clean, Vada have found it after testing him again, but surely usada should have found it too. The corrupt c*nts.

We probably need a separate Jon Jones steroids thread at this point, I’m not sure there is much more to be said on either side...

On that note. A Q I saw from BT

What fight got you into the UFC? When? Why?

Mine

BJ Penn the Prodidgy against Jens Pulver and I don’t miss a card today!

Joe Rogan singing the praises of jiu jitsu and BJ becoming the first American champ at BJJ.

Fast forward 1.5 decades later and my little lad has now been born and we are heading out to America next month to compete at the kids version!

I also wish BJ would retire!

That's awesome, congrats pal.

My first fight was some old PRIDE, I couldn't even tell you who fought but I know it was boring as shit.

My first was ken Shamrock vs Tito Ortiz at UFC 40, 2002, amazing event and main event.

I loved Pride, but I was always pro Ufc. Chuck > Wand debates back in the day were legendry.

Khabib hit with a 9 month ban and $500k (!) fine. McGregor gets a £50k fine and 6 month ban.

Both bans effective from their last fight so they can return earlier.

Agree on Adesanya, but I'm a stan for him, however I think Gastelum takes it in the main. Just think Whittaker has been through the ringer a bit with both Romero fights and all the health issues that followed.

Cowboy should decline the belt part, it guarantees his loss.

Don't understand why Cowboy is in contention, he's just a journeyman. He would get whooped inside 1 round by Poirier and Ferguson.

What is it with MMA and all these pull outs? It was a terrible PPV to begin with, now it's essentially a 1-fight PPV. Not staying up for it now.
