I've just been to see Ennio Morricone here in Stockholm and his work is just magical.

87 years old and on tour  :o What a legend!

My favourite part was a song from Cinema Paradiso. Goose bumps all over. That alone was worth the fee for the ticket.

Apologies if this in the wrong place.

I have a spare ticket for Ocean Colour Scene in Liverpool this Friday (9th December) going for what I paid for it - £30.

Its an E-ticket so easy for me to email it over to anybody who wants it.

Thanks.

Managed to catch Bruce Springsteen in the Hunter Valley on the weekend. Battled through a hail storm before he opened up with Who'll Stop The Rain by Credence. Knocked out 29 songs including the usual highlights, and some covers of Because The Night (Patti Smith), I Fought The Law (The Crickets) and Shout (The Isley Brothers).

Today, I landed tickets for Underworld @ The Sydney Opera House in April and week after that I'm off to Michael Kiwanuka (my 2016 album of the year).

Happy days.

Yes, massive shame. They went the same way as ATP - get close to the festival, then when they don't hit the sales go into administration. Me and my mates will get our money back but a lot of the bands have lost the gig, quite a few coming from abroad as well. I think ATP killed this formula in a way. You might get the money back on your festival ticket but you won't get your travel covered. My mate came over from Australia for the Stewart Lee ATP and we were going to Drive Like Jehu the next week, which was cancelled. Anyone from abroad (or even from somewhere like Plymouth or Aberdeen) is going to think twice about booking their travel for something like this now. It's kind of killed the formula unless it ramps the line up right back. Residents, Butthole Surfers... all gone.

Having said that I quite like the look of the Manchester Psych Fest in September. TVAM, Girl Band, Bo Ningen... very nice. Perhaps this is the format now. Holiday camps are so 1950s.

You should definitely have a look at Le Guess Who as well. It's in Utrecht but the line up has been fantastic the last few years.

Great excuse to visit Utrecht as well.

Managed to catch Underworld at the Sydney Opera House last night. What an epic gig. Jan Utzon certainly didn't envision that sound, those lights and them shapes being cut in that space.

Been 3 times, the last being about 5 years ago. Brilliant festival you will love it. It's the perfect mesh of a sunny holiday and live music. The town is quite small but when you arrive at the train station they sell you bus cards for the duration of the festival, definitely get one. There is regular buses during the day that do a lap of the whole town.

LIDL is a god send. If you are boozing, get it all there. From what I remember they were selling bottles of rum and vodka for 5 euro or something ridiculous. Boxes of wine and sangria for a couple of euro..

Are you staying in the camp site? I have been wanting to go back for a few years now but if I were to go I'd try and rent a villa or something. Waking up in tents in that heat can be tough..adding to that being hungover..

Managed to knock LCD Soundsystem off my bucket list last night. Definitely, sounded like a band wanting to get back in the game rather then an encore tour. So happy yo see Nancy Whang on the keyboard.

Some festivals I've been to :)

Nos Alive in Lisbon
Primavera in Barca
Festival 6
Liverpool Psychedelic Festival

Probably going the Liverpool Psych one again this year. Went to Primavera in June and got Aphex Twin crossed off my list! That was amazing, he had cameras aimed at the crowd with his face superimposed on people  ;D

Shed Seven and Cast next month at Brixton Academy. Been to 2 others this year, one was Catfish and the Bottlemen at Wembley Arena and the other was Bros at the O2!!!!

Nothing will ever eclipse seeing Edwin Starr at Croydon Branigans for £2 a few years back  :o

In terms of festivals, only did the Sunday at Knebworth for Oasis but never done Glastonbury etc
